People

My eye's snap open to the sound of the door opening, panic surges through my as I briefly forget where i am. I stay perfectly still as I hear not one but three people shuffle into my room. Heartbeats fill my ears as i let out a silent breath of almost relief as they shuffle around the room. The room goes silent, the figures now still, I find myself holding my breath waiting for something... anything to happen. Suddenly light fills the room, leaving me blinded and blinking. Sitting up my still damp hair tickles my back, causing me to gasp slightly. My eyes slightly watering at the blight light coming from the now open blinds, looking towards my now drawn window showing a magnificent icy garden, pine trees almost seemed to be frosted with icing, a frozen maze sleeping waiting for someone to wander in and in the middle a frozen fountain frozen in the time it once ran. But most important the sun, that now hangs in the sky now shining down, reaching down to glisten on the icy frosted glass, as if to beckon me outside. Stirring by the window brings me back to the reality of the room, two young girls almost identical twins with stunning curly fire red hair vibrant against their ivory skin, is pinned up nicely with white glistening pearls, their matching navy and silver threading gowns complementing their pale skin and red hair, and their grey blue eyes unnerving and staring at me as if I am prey to kill. But the only thing telling them apart is a small birthmark that rests just above their lips but on opposite sides of their cheeks. Drawing my eyes away I look towards the end of the bed, towards the last figure standing at the end of my bed. Another young lady, in a deep velvet red dress a hood just covering her face but loose raven black curls hair spills out the sides of her hood, with the sun hitting her hair its almost looks blue but what was most interesting was the snow white feathers poking out in her hair, maybe an accessory of sorts. "Sorry your highness, but you Julian has requested breakfast with you," says the girls with the raven black hair her voice soft and careful as if not to scare me. "Iris, Ivy, find something comfortable and nice for her to wear" the girl gestures to the wardrobe. The twins start moving towards the wardrobe whist the girl pulls her hood back revealing her pale face, her rosy pink lips have a small comforting smile and her teal eyes warm and greeting. "Witch," one of the twins say her high pitch voice causing me to jump slightly, my eyes dart between the raven haired girl and the twins. Something clicks in my head, the feathers in her hair weren't an accessory but her witches mark. I remember my parents had a friend who was a witch with small horns that poked through his hair. Now I find myself staring at the girl in front of me her white feathers almost poking up in frustration, a small frown now covers her face. "I've told you plenty of times Ivy, please call me Ravyn. I am still a being who has feelings" she snaps at the girl. "Sorry Miss Ravyn" Ivy now looks at Ravyn almost as if shes been slapped in the face by a fish, a small smile threatens to escape at the edges of my lips. The other girl, Iris moves past her sister and lays a peach colored gown down on the bed. Looking up at her she gives me a small nod and goes and stands by her sister. Ravyn lets out a small sigh almost sounding defeated, "That will be all girls, I will take it from here". And with that she clicks her fingers and the door leading to the corridor opens up for them. With a quick bow the twins turn around and leave, making a speedy escape from the witch. Clicking her fingers again she shuts the door behind them and straightens out her gown. "I'm sorry about that, let's start that again" another comforting smile replaces the frown she had on a mere few seconds ago. "My name is Ravyn Whitemore, I'm a friend of Julian's and the witch that helps out around around here" her teal eyes seem to twinkle as she smile, making me feel comfortable. I go to open my mouth, but she stops me by holding up her hand and giggling. "Please your Highness, I already know who you are" she holds up the dress as she speaks "now we really should be getting you ready". A little smile escapes my lips, as I get off my bed and look at the beautifully embroiled peach dress, taking it into my hands I walk into the bathroom and put on the dress. Walking out of the bathroom, I straighten out the dress finding it twisted and pinching me in ways i didn't know possible. Ravyn lets out a small laugh and stands up from the chair that i sat in last night. Clicking her fingers once again, I feel the dress shift into place, no longer twisted and pinching me it now flows down not quite fitting my small frame but enough that its wearable. Looking in the mirror, I look at how frail and small i look in the elegant dress. Ravyn now stands behind me her hands almost glowing as she dries of the remainder of my hair with her magic. "Don't worry, Julian will take care of you now and will get you all the food you can eat" she says as she pins up my hair and adds a ribbon as the last finishing touch. "There you go, Beautiful" she says with a smile. "Thank you Ravyn" I smile back at her. With a twinkle in her eye she clicks her finger one last time and the door opens. "Shall we?"
