Torn Angel

I was in hospital for weeks before they even let me move. It was a week after that before they released me to my room where I was bed ridden for days. Oh they where painful. Andrew never left my side unless I was asleep but even them he was right there when I woke. Pat and Tanisha patched up even though that was long and painful. I still don’t know what I am going to do about Pat. I have forgiven him but I figured he needed to pay a bit for what he did. Nothing to much as I know what hell he has been through and with the new job he looks more stressed then ever. “What are you thinking about.” Andrew asked as he held me closer. I was sitting on his lap under the gazebo. The Rose’s are all prepared for the winter days that seem to be fast approaching. Even the weather started to take a cooler approach. “Everything.” I smiled as I looked over at him. It was amazing how this man went from someone I had in my life to someone who was the most important person in my life. I don’t know if it’s because of the fear of him going rouge again or what. “You should just relax and enjoy this peace.” Andrew spoke gently as he pulled me closer so he could put his chin on my shoulder. I just chuckled as he closed his eyes. I knew he was exhausted but he couldn’t do anything. He had work with my father, my brother, then Jessica and not to mention all the stuff he has to do for Rachelle and Tanisha just so he can spend a few hours with me a day. “I am enjoying this.” I told him placing my hands on his that where wrapped around me. He snuggled me closer as I heard his breathing become more shallower. I sighed gently as I began to look around keeping my shoulder still. He needs to get more sleep and yet he is here with me. I gently sighed as I rose lifting him with me. I walked to my bedroom where I laid him down on my bed gently. I kissed his cheek before I went to the bench beside the window with a book. I wanted to spend time with him and I wanted to be near him but the others where just killing him. By the time he is even able to get a bit of sleep I’m awake and moving and not really by choice. So much has gone on and this war is not doing good things. Some of our men had to accompany the Queen of dragons back to her kingdom and help her set the kingdom back up. To many of there warriors where wounded and we had many to spare. Reco and Callista had to return back to there Pack with a few of our warriors to work out strategy plans. I haven’t seen Logan in the last few days, even Rachelle has been kind of depressed. I make sure Andrew isn’t around when she is. I don’t want to make matters worse. Though Patric and Tanisha patched up there relationship is very rocky. “Hey.” Tarick called. I instantly shut his mouth with magic as I placed a finger on my lips. He nodded as he quietly walked over. Tarick was the only person that hasn’t changed much just like Rebecca. They both along with Jason are treating every day the same as the next. “I thought he was spending time with you.” “He's exhausted. Everyone is pushing him past his max. What kind of a girl would I be if I let him be up when he really needs this nap.” I told him gently as I stretched before putting the book Mark in my book. “Pat is frustrated and Tanisha is about to kill him. Rebecca wants to pull her hair out.” Tarick gently chuckled. “ Alex and Jessica are just making things worse and I’m sure Mark is about ready to split his shirt.” “Alright what’s wrong.” I asked a little unsure what should be done. “They want you in your fathers office.” Tarick smiled as he jumped up. I looked at the clock and realised Andrew had only been sleeping for two hours. With a sigh I threw a shield around him and followed Tarick out. We where quiet as we walked to the office where I could hear arguing. I knew this wasn’t going to be good. “All of you shut it.” Mark snapped. “Us shut it. You have been doing all the talking.” Tanisha snapped. “This is not getting us anywhere.” Rebecca said. I walked in and all went quiet. I walked up to the table where they had everything place. A flick of my hand brought the map up into a full 3d look. “I don’t have long so let’s get whatever the hell you all are arguing over so I can get back to what I was doing.” I told them sternly looking at each of them. Everyone looked at me shocked. “well don’t everyone move at once.” “Avery.” Alex started. “I have had enough of all of you. You are all stressed out. Patric you cant even keep Tanisha happy by saying hi because your always in here. You push poor Andrew to the max, he is passed out on my bed. I am here to help to.” I told them annoyed. “Is this Not Avery’s Group.” “Yes it is but…” Tanisha said. “If it’s my group then I should be involved as well. I can help in some places more then others.” I spoke indicating to the magic in front of them. “And the other we know you will learn as we go.” Rachelle spoke stepping out of the corner. “I’m sorry Avery, just been a bit off these days.” “Where is that lug nut.” I spoke. She just shook her head and I knew right then he left back to the kingdom. I sighed. “This is not acceptable.” “Its okay Avery.” Rachelle gently spoke even though she hurt. “Alright I will deal with that later.” I spoke walking over to her and wrapping her in my arms. She did the same with me. “Let’s get this done before we have a hurricane upstairs.” “Should I go keep an eye on him?” Tarick asked as everyone was confused. “All good I have a barrier around him. It will alert me to his possible wake up. Plus I left a note on the pillow so if he does he knows where I am.” “That will not stop the hurricane from happening though.” Rachelle chuckled. Everyone got a good chuckle before there nose went to the grid. It was so boring. They where talking about strategy and how best to cover the area. I of course was able to help with my own two sense as I remember the conversation I had with the queen and Reco. “There in a mater of 3 hours we have fixed the issues that have been going on for days.” Mark said with a smile. It was nice to see. He hasn’t supported one of those in days. “Were sorry Avery. Who knew magic could help so much in some situations.” “I’m glad I was able to help. You do know there are two others here that can help with this. Just ask and I’m sure one of us will be able to help.” I told him with a big smile. I wasn’t to tired but I knew that was because Thomas has been helping me strengthen my magical energy. He wants me to be the strongest I can be. I had a few things already going before this so I know I would be exhausted by night fall tonight. A feeling went over me and I knew I had to go. “This is my queue to leave.” “Thanks Avery.” Everyone called as Rachelle Tanish Tarick and I left. Pat was a little up set but I sent him an idea and he smiled happily. I quickly made a message out of thin air and passed it to Tarick who raced away doing what I had asked. “So I say you take the rest of the day off. Our afternoon training can be picked up again tomorrow.” Rachelle gently said looking at me with a smile. “Are you sure?” I asked a little shocked. “We know it’s important to get you all trained up and such but we can only push so much. We know you have really had no personal time with Andrew and today he’s sleeping through your whole time. We want to give you both the privilege to spend a bit more time together.” Tanisha smiled. Oh how happy I was to hear that. I quickly mind linked Pat and Tarick of the plan. “Well you giving me this I want to give you both something.” I spoke gently. They stopped mid stride and looked at me. I smiled from where I stopped. “I want to have supper with you under the Rose garden Gazebo tonight. Nothing to Fancy just supper with my two best friends.” “Sure.” They said in unison. “Alright we meet in an hour?” I smiled at them as I grabbed Rachelle who stayed with me. Tanisha smiled before she left to get ready. “Where really not going to meet for supper are we?” She smiled. “No Tanisha is going for supper just not with me.” I smiled at her. Soon her smile disappeared. “I have something else planned for you come.” “I’m not really in the mood.” She said as I dragged her to my room. Andrew was stirring causing me to run up to him and place a hand on his shoulder. He relaxed and was out again. I just smiled as I raced back to Rachelle and dragged her into my closet. We went to the spare room I was in with Tarick when the things attacked. I sat cross legged and pointed her to do the same in front of me. She did looking confused. “what are you doing?” “You’ll see.” I smiled as I closed my eyes and began to focus. I searched for Logan to find him pacing his room. Pulling some more magic and reaching my hand out to Rachelle I waited. Took her a second but she grabbed my hand and I whisked us to his room. He didn’t notice us but she noticed him. I nodded to her as she rose and jumped him. “s**t,” He spoke as they tumbled to the floor. He looked and I was so happy I raced over because the face he made, made this whole thing worth it. His face showed so much love for her. He pulled her up and kissed her passionately. I smiled happily. “Now, I know this is important but if you ask you will find I am a pretty nice person.” I spoke when he pulled away and looked around. His eyes fell on me. “I would have let her come you know.” “I couldn’t take a personal guard away.” He spoke getting them both to there feet. Rachelle was locked around him. I knew how she felt. Just the fact I was here puts a pull on my heart. “I am safe in my kingdom. If she where to come with you I would have been fine. You both have such a young love. Your pull for her is taking from her as well.” I spoke gently. “Now I am going to leave her here with you.” “Please.” He spoke kissing her head. “I will be returning in the next day or two.” “Good, Rachelle you going to be okay.” I asked gently. “Oh Avery thank you so much.” She cried as she tried to hug me but couldn’t. She was a little confused. “Princess you need to get back to your body now. That kind of magic will harm you.” Logan said annoyed. “I am okay.” I told him with a smile. “Rachelle I was the bridge between you two. That’s why I cant be hugged. You where the one I teleported here. I am here to make sure everything is okay.” “Please get back. You have already used so much magic.” Rachelle said as she went back to Logan. I smiled as I watched them embrace each other before I went back to my body. I opened my eyes to see my body had collapsed from exhaustion. I laid like this for a moment before I tried to rise. Well that wasn’t happening as darkness took me. I waited for the image to appear but nothing did. ‘I will find you.’ The harsh raspy voice called. Everything in my body told me to run but I was rooted to the ground. ‘You will be mine. Your mother got away but you will not.’ Fear took me as I shook where I lay. I couldn’t get away I could move. Something touched my shoulder and I quivered. The pain from where the whips had hit me spiked up like they where new. The pain in my abs from the swords spiked causing me to scream. ‘See you are nothing compared to me.’ He screamed at me. “Andrew.” I cried out. The darkness disappeared and the hand on my shoulder left causing the pain to stop. “Avery.” A voice called to me before two hands fell on me. I was being lifted before I felt his chest. “Baby please tell me your alright. Avery, please tell me what’s wrong.” “Andrew.” I spoke gently opening my eyes to see his worried face. He relaxed a little when he saw me looking at him. He carefully picked me up and took me to the bed. He placed me down and laid beside me. I snuggled to him causing him to chuckle a bit. “Avery what’s wrong?” he asked stocking my hair. “Someone was after my mom.” I spoke as tears began to come to my eyes. He held me closer. “He is now after me.” I felt the growl come out of him as he kissed the top of my head. He pulled me that much closer as I began to cry harder. Someone came through the door causing Andrew to shift a bit. “Go get Alex.” He spoke. Whom ever it was scurried out the door quickly. Andrew went to move causing me to panic. “easy darling no ones taking your chicken strips away.” I chuckled at him as I let him go a little. He leaned up and brought me into his lap. I laid my head on his shoulder as he held me close. “Please stay with me tonight.” I spoke even though I knew he would not go anywhere. “Don’t worry Avery. I will not leave you. I can feel your fear. Something has you very worked up.” He gently spoke. “If your comfort is right here in my arms this is where you will stay.” “Thank you.” I whispered to him as I snuggled closer to him. His comfort is what I really needed. The voice sounded familiar, like I had heard it before. I couldn’t pin it. “Andrew.” Alex spoke as he was dragged in by Tarick. My head shot up and he knew right away something was wrong. Jessica and Papa where right behind him. “Avery what’s wrong.” “Someone who was after mom is now after me.” I began to cry again as I remembered the image. Andrew held me tighter as Alex grabbed my hand and squeezing it. “No one will get to you.” Alex said looking up at me. “I swear nothing will touch you.” I looked up towards Jessica who was looking at the door. When she turned her head to me she smiled warmly. I wonder where Papa had run off to. Tarick came around to my back and hugged me placing his cheek on my back. “Avery.” Thomas spoke startling me. Andrew was ready to jump to his feet till he saw it was Thomas. I looked over at him. “I know it’s going to be painful but I need you to show me that memory.” “I cant.” I whispered trying to forget it. “Avery nothing is going to touch you but I need to see it.” He spoke gently coming and sitting beside me. “I promise I will be right there with you.” “What happens if he comes back.” I spoke not wanting more of what happened to come back once more. “He will not touch you Avery. You have my word.” Thomas spoke. “He already has.” I cried leaning into Andrew. Everyone was silent. I could here Andrew internally growling. “What do you mean he already touched you?” Andrew growled. “Avery you have to show me.” Thomas spoke now more urgent and worried. Papa had walked back into the room. I held onto Andrew tight as I reached my hand back. Andrew quickly wrapped his arms around me as Thomas grabbed my hand. I had to relive the whole thing again. This time the pain wasn’t as bad as I knew it was coming. When everything was done I took my hand and gripped Andrew once more. Thomas quickly rose and I felt my shoulder that he touched become bare. I didn’t care. “Fuck.” The voice was papas. We all turned to him in shock. “Avery you need to let Andrew go.” Thomas spoke. “Why?” Andrew asked scared. “Andrew please you have to let her go.” Papa spoke. “What the hell is going on.” Jessica asked now worried. I felt something funny. “Trust me.” Thomas spoke causing me to nod gently. I went to break away from Andrew but he held me tight. “It has to be something important if he is asking.” I gently told him looking up at Andrew. He shook his head but let me get up. My head began to spin as I did but I managed to stay up right. “How much Magic have you used today?” Thomas spoke I was going to say nothing but as soon as I looked away he knew. “This is not good Avery.” “What.” I spoke as I began to see stars. “There is something wrong.” Andrew commented he rose from the bed. And walked over. “She is going to need you magic to.” Thomas sighed. “grab her hand.” “She can take what ever she needs.” Andrew spoke. “Listen you have to completely do as I say. If you don’t she is going to die.” Thomas spoke. “I don’t feel so good.” I spoke getting really Dizzy. “Shit.” Thomas cursed as I stopped moving. He must have held me up. “everyone needs to leave this room.” “Avery.” Andrew spoke. “Andrew you need to leave to.” Thomas spoke heart broken. “But I need to help.” “Its to late. We pray I will be enough.” Thomas spoke. Andrew placed a hand on his shoulder and a small light shown under his hand for a split second. I was surprise I seen that. “Save her.” Andrew spoke before he raced out of the room. As he did everything went black. I was lying on the floor once more looking at nothing. ‘Now I have you.’ The voice spoke. I quivered as I folded myself together. I was scared. A hand ever so gentle landed on my shoulder. I looked up to See Thomas. “I promise he will not get you.” Thomas smiled as he lifted me to his arms. I held onto him tight before I fell into darkness. A hand gripped my rather tight as I heard someone pacing. Oh if that is Alex I am going to strangle him. “Come on man your making me nervous.” Andrew spoke. “I’m making you nervous.” Alex piped up. “This tapping is driving me crazy.” “At least I know something better then pacing.” I think it had to be Pat. The tapping finally came to my ears but soon stopped after a second. “How do we know she is okay.” Tanisha asked gently. Oh no I hope I didn’t ruin there night. “Thomas promised he managed to keep her safe.” Jessica said. She had to be sitting close by as I heard her loud and clear. “Did he figure out what it was?” Pat asked. “From the sounds of it, it’s someone that was after mom.” Alex sighed. He finally stopped pacing and was leaning on something. “They couldn’t save her from him.” “Nothing is going to happen to her.” Andrew spoke as he kissed my hand. I believed him. I knew he was speaking the truth. He wasn’t happy with this and nor was I. “How is she?” Papa said walking into the room. “Still sleeping.” Jessica spoke. Papa came to the side of my bed and grabbed my hand. “Good.” Papa said with a sigh. “if she starts convulsing or having difficult breathing or anything that doesn’t calm down while you are holding her hand we have to wake him immediately.” “Why?” Alex spoke nervous. “He is fully guaranteed he has the link severed but if she does anything like that it means he didn’t and she is being attacked.” Papa sighed. “She doesn’t have the magic to keep him at bay due to what she has done today.” “Dad what is going on.” Alex asked sternly. I was glad someone did. “A force we wish to keep at bay has been sought out by the enemy. They have recruited them to there side. One of dark and evil magic.” Papa began. “Your mother was whom they where after due to her nature, power and magic. This allured him. He knew with her they could make children very powerful that would rule the world. His darkness was nothing she wanted in this world. She fought against him. In the end a battle to protect Avery took her. Neither of us got her then. He coiled away into darkness waiting for the next mage to emerge.” “Avery.” Jessica spoke gently. “He didn’t know at the time she was alive. Her mother hid her magic from all of us. Even her wings where hidden from everyone but me and her brother.” Papa continued. “Now that her magic has been exposed he will be after her.” “No.” Alex spoke it sounded like tears. “I should have never brought her back. Not now. I should have waited.” “Alex.” Jessica got of the chair beside me. I figured she had to walk over and be hugging Alex. “It wouldn’t have mattered if she was there or here son. He would have found her one way or the other. At least here we have Thomas and Andrew once his training is complete to magically protect her. Also her guards have all got some for of gifts and are well trained against his soldiers.” Papa spoke with a sigh. “Its best she came here. We can keep an eye on her better here.” “But this is not what we wanted for her.” Alex said. “I know son. Your mother is probably rolling over in her grave. We wanted none of this for either of you but I was left with no choice.” Papa said. His voice sounded so sad. I wanted to hug him to tell him everything was alright but sleep took me again. Man I must have really been exhausted.
