Chapter 1
Sara's POV. We were supposed to be childhood lovers, married under the moonlight and happily filled with the warmth of love in the Howling pack but then… How did we get here? I thought bitterly. I had given Jason everything—every piece of me, every ounce of love I had to offer. But it hadn’t been enough. Not when she came back. Morgan Vega. The woman who had held Jason’s heart before me. She returned as though she had every right to walk into our lives, into my home. And Jason… Jason didn’t stop her. He didn’t protect me. He let her stay. He gave her everything I thought was mine. I couldn’t keep pretending. Not anymore. I had my unborn child to think about now. My baby deserved better than this—better than growing up in a home where love had turned to ashes. My baby deserved peace, and so did I. With determination, I climbed the staircase, each step feeling heavier than the last. My fingers trembled as I clutched the divorce papers, but my will to do this remained firm. This was the only way out. I needed to let Jason go—to set us both free. But halfway up, someone stepped into my path. Lifting my eyes to see who it was, I couldn't help but sense disgust coursing through my veins. it was Morgan. She leaned casually against the railing, her arms folded across her chest, her lips curling into that familiar smug grin that made my stomach churn. “If it isn’t the weak omega herself,” she sneered, her voice dripping with venom. “What are you doing here, Sara? Shouldn’t you be hiding somewhere, crying your pitiful little eyes out?” I swallowed hard, forcing myself to remain calm. “I’m here to see Jason,” I said softly, refusing to meet her gaze. “Please, Morgan, just step aside.” Morgan laughed, the sound sharp and cruel. “Oh, you’re here to see Jason? You think he wants to see you? Poor thing, he can barely stand the sight of you these days.” Her eyes flicked down to the papers in my hand. “What’s that?” I pulled the papers closer to my chest. “It’s none of your business.” Morgan’s grin widened, and before I could stop her, she snatched the documents from my hands. “Hey!” I cried, reaching for them, but she held them out of my reach, scanning the pages with interest. Her eyes darkened as a folded paper slipped out and fluttered to the ground. She bent down, picking it up, and her expression shifted when she read it. Her lips parted in mock surprise. “You’re pregnant?” She raised an eyebrow, holding the paper up like it was some kind of joke. “You don’t actually expect Jason to care, do you?” I grabbed the paper back from her, holding it close. “I don’t care what Jason thinks. I’m here to give him these divorce papers, and after that, he’s all yours. You can have him, Morgan. Enjoy.” My voice shook, but I forced the words out anyway. Morgan’s laughter echoed through the hall, loud and taunting. “Oh, Sara, you’re just too easy. Even if you leave, do you really think Jason will care about your pathetic little pregnancy? He’s with me now. He wants me. You’ve always been nothing more than an afterthought.” I clenched my jaw, refusing to let her see how her words cut me. “I’m done with this,” I said quietly, stepping past her. But before I could take another step, Morgan suddenly gasped and crumpled to the ground. Her hand shot to her stomach, and her face twisted in pain. “My baby,” she whimpered, her voice weak and strained. I froze, my heart pounding in confusion. I hadn’t touched her—hadn’t done anything to cause this. “Morgan?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “What’s happening?” Her cries grew louder, and I took a hesitant step back, unsure of what to do. Suddenly, Jason’s footsteps thundered down the stairs, and he appeared, his face filled with panic. “Morgan!” he shouted, rushing to her side. He dropped to his knees beside her, his hands hovering over her as though afraid to touch her. “What happened? Are you okay?” “I—I don’t know how to explain this,” she sobbed, clutching her stomach tighter. “It hurts, Jason. It hurts so much.” Jason turned to me, his face twisted with anger. Morgan was clutching his arm like a helpless victim, her lips trembling in fake fear. “She pushed me, Jason,” Morgan whispered, her voice fragile and broken. “She doesn’t want me here because I’m carrying your child. I—I don’t know why she hates me so much.” She sniffled, wiping imaginary tears from her cheek. “I’m sorry, Sara. I didn’t mean to make things worse… just that Jason loves me.” Her act was flawless, her voice laced with guilt and sadness. But I knew the truth. She was lying. I hadn’t touched her, not even once, but Jason didn’t even glance my way for an explanation. His eyes blazed with fury, his body trembling with barely contained rage. “Sara,” he growled, his tone dripping with disgust. “How could you?!” He didn’t wait for me to answer. Before I could speak, before I could explain, he stormed toward me and shoved me backward. Hard. I stumbled, losing my footing as the world tilted around me. My body slammed against the edge of the stairs, the sharp pain shooting up my back as I landed on the hard floor below. The crash knocked the breath out of me, and I screamed—a deep, broken sound that echoed through the house. My hand flew instinctively to my stomach. My baby. My child. A wave of panic surged through me as the pain in my belly grew sharper. “Jason!” I gasped, my voice trembling. “Please… help me. I’m pregnant. I’m carrying your child.” I didn't want to tell him this but I had to at this point. Jason froze for a brief moment, his face flickering with confusion, but Morgan quickly stepped in. “Don’t listen to her,” she said softly, leaning into him. “Sara has always been a liar, Jason. She’s just trying to ruin what we have. She’s desperate to take you away from me.” Jason’s expression hardened, his gaze locking onto mine. “Pregnant?” he scoffed, his voice filled with disbelief. “You’re barren, Sara. Don’t lie to me.” The words cut deeper than any punch given to me. My chest tightened, and my vision blurred with tears. “Please,” I begged, my voice shaking. “I’m telling the truth. I’m pregnant with your child. I—I need help.” Morgan stepped closer, feigning concern, though the cruel glint in her eyes betrayed her true intentions. “If you’re really pregnant,” she said, her voice sickly sweet, “why aren’t you bleeding? There’s no proof, Sara. You’re just trying to trick Jason, as always.” Her words were like knives, but before I could respond, she moved closer. Suddenly, her foot pressed down hard on my stomach. Pain exploded through me, and I let out a blood-curdling scream, clutching my belly as tears streamed down my face. “Stop it!” I cried, trying to push her foot away, but I was too weak. “Please, Morgan! You’re hurting me!” Jason stood there, watching, his jaw clenched as Morgan pretended to stumble back, clutching her own stomach. “See?” she said, her voice trembling with mock innocence. “She’s not pregnant, Jason. This is just another one of her games.” But then, I felt it. Warm, wet, and evident. Blood. It was trickling down my legs, staining my dress, pooling on the floor beneath me. My hands shook as I touched it, my heart shattering when I saw the red blood across my fingers. “Jason!” I sobbed, holding out my blood-streaked hand. “Please, help me. I’m bleeding. Our baby… Jason, I’m begging you!” But Jason didn’t move. His eyes narrowed as he looked at me, his lips curling in disgust. “Morgan has always been right about you,” he said coldly. “You’re nothing but a scheming woman, Sara.” “No!” I cried, crawling toward him, grabbing at his leg in desperation. “Jason, please. Please believe me. I’m telling the truth!” He kicked my hand away, his face a mask of indifference. “Stay away from me,” he warned. Then, turning to Morgan, he wrapped an arm around her waist, guiding her down the stairs. “Come on, Morgan. Let’s get you to the hospital. You need to get checked immediately.” Morgan glanced back at me, a victorious smirk playing on her lips. Her act was flawless, her body slumped as though she could barely stand, but her eyes shone with cruel satisfaction. I was left on the floor, alone, my body trembling as pain wracked through me. Blood continued to seep out, staining everything. My vision blurred, and my strength began to fade, but the pain in my chest was worse than anything else. Jason didn’t care. He had abandoned me, rejected me, turned his back on me and our child. I lay there, sobbing quietly, the world around me fading into darkness. “Moon Goddess,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. “Please… give me another chance. I wish for another chance to make them pay. I wish for revenge.” As the words left my lips, my body went still. The pain faded, replaced by a numbness that spread through me. I felt myself slipping away, my heartbeat slowing until there was nothing but silence. And then, I was surrounded by darkness. Endless, cold, and suffocating. My soul ached with the weight of my regrets. My baby was gone. My life was over. But just as I thought I would drift forever, a bright light appeared behind me. It was warm, blinding, and impossibly pure. “Are you sure you want this?” a voice echoed, soft yet commanding. I turned toward the light, shielding my eyes. “Want what?” I asked, my voice trembling with confusion. “To get your revenge on them,” the voice clarified. I hesitated for only a moment before nodding. “Yes,” I said, my voice stronger now. “I want it. I wish to make them pay for everything they’ve done.” The light grew brighter, enveloping me in its warmth. “You have 185 days,” the voice said, each word resonating deep in my soul. “185 days to get your revenge on everyone who made you weep.” “I… I don’t understand, what do you…” I began, but before I could finish, the light disappeared, and the darkness returned. With a sudden gasp, my eyes snapped open. My chest heaved, and I clutched at my throat, choking on the air. “Ughhh!”
