Jackson POV As the Alphas began to leave, Alaric’s Beta, John and a few others wouldn’t stop attacking. They began revolting, causing Jackson and a few other warriors, to lock them up. He really hoped they weren’t all like this. There had to be at least a few good men here, right? He needed to address the pack, to sooth their nerves. Pack members rarely did well after the loss of their Alpha—especially when there was no official Luna. Jackson stood at the front of the packhouse steps, his arms crossed as warriors and other pack members stood waiting. Some looked dazed. Others defiant. All were uncertain. He cleared his throat. “Your new Alpha has temporarily left me in charge,” he said, voice carrying easily. “Me—and my mates.” He gestured to his mates, standing on the steps behind him
