When he’d heard Veronica was in his pack, his heart had done a little somersault. He’d been wanting to see her ever since he’d gotten back. It had only been one night, but he’d missed her presence.
He’d wanted to go and see Talia and Conner in the pack jail, but that would have to wait. Though seeing her so distraught had caused his heart to heart. The feelings had crashed into to him through the bond.

He glanced at her in the rearview mirror as he followed behind Jackson and his mates’ car, still trying to make sense of what was happening. Robert, seated beside him, looked just as tense—his brow furrowed, lips pressed into a tight line.
