2. Unexpected Encounter

1143 Words
“What are you?” I asked, looking into my attacker’s dark pitch eyes that could barely be seen as a black cloak covering her head. The corner of her mouth lifts slightly when my vision becomes blurry, and before I pass out, I notice her leaning over me and strands of greenish-black hair coming out, tickling my face. I try to fight whatever makes me feel this exhausted, but as she gets closer and her scent fills my lungs, I quickly give up. I was dreaming about her again, about Ellaire. But this time, it was different. Instead of k*lling her, she k*lls me. The satisfaction from her eyes when she stabs me in the heart reminds me of the girl from the woods. I open my eyes slightly, trying to take into my surroundings, but I cannot see a thing as the darkness surrounds me. “Shade? Are you there?” I asked my wolf, but as expected, he didn't answer. The bond became even weaker, and I knew that if we couldn’t fix our issues, I would lose him forever. But he doesn’t seem to care. All he is doing is blaming me for what happened, then disappearing for weeks or even months. “Look who decided to honour us with his presence. You must be weaker than I thought, Black Hunter. Or should I call you, umm, Alpha Levi?” My head snapped in the direction of her voice. How can she know who I am? The scent of her blood reminds me that I also managed to hurt her. “Who are you?!” I asked and tried to move, but to no avail, as my body wouldn’t listen to me. “Easy, Alpha. Your secret is safe with me. Well, at least for now. Now be a good boy, and let me rest." “WHO ARE YOU? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!” I shout, annoyed by her calm behaviour. “Shh, don’t yell! It might get dangerous, and I don’t want your pretty ass hurt. Not yet.” “Do you think that you can hurt me? Have you thought, at least for a second, that I wanted this to happen? That I let you capture me?” I asked with a smirk when I started feeling my body again. Whatever the substance from her knife was, it seemed to fade away. The woman starts laughing, and I hear her as she takes slow steps toward me. “And I’m sure you also wanted to be unable to move and pass away. I could have k*lled you, and you know that, right? And maybe I should have done it! Maybe you are indeed useless!” “Useless?! So you must be in great need to come to me, then! Oh, and to keep me alive? Maybe it would have been better if you had k*lled me. Who knows what will happen when I recover from whatever sorcery you used? I have been looking for you for the last five years! What made you come to me? Why now, and who the hell are you?” I said to her when her scent hit my senses again. But unless before, it was fading; it wasn't as strong as it used to be. She came closer, and I could now see her face - big, black eyes with long eyelashes and a small nose that scrunched as she got closer, almost touching mine, and full lips that parted slightly and closed suddenly. Her eyes locked with mine, and when I opened my mouth to speak, no words came out. I was confused about what was happening, about how she could mess with me like this, and I could see in her eyes that she was feeling the same. She stepped away and turned her back to me. I couldn’t help noticing her round a*s and long legs, which seemed to tease me. “What is happening to me?” For the first time since I lost Ellaire, I was somehow attracted to another woman. “No, this is just her doing; this is sorcery. She must have put some spell on me. I can’t let this happen. I can’t just fall into her traps and forget my Mate. There is no other woman for me in this world; no one that can take the place of my Ellaire.” “Are you a witch?” I asked suddenly, surprising both of us. She turned her face to me quickly, and I could see the anger rising in her eyes. “Do not ever, but ever call me like that! You don’t know me, rogue!” She yelled and fully turned towards me. “It was a mistake to think that you could help me! You are a broken boy, unable to see further than his pain. Good luck with your nightmares!!” She added and started walking away towards what seemed to be the cave's exit. “Come closer, and I will show you how broken I am when I end you without remorse! Who do you think you are to judge me like this? If I am to think, you are the one that came to me. Now, look at us! If it were the other way around, things would have been different. I don’t know who or what you are, but I think you have some answers for me! You were there that day, weren’t you? At the Imperial Pack’s border! Why?! And why do you smell like her?! Who are you?!” She stopped for a second and turned her head slowly to the side. “Your senses will come back to normal in about twenty minutes! Do not follow me anymore because I have no answers for you; if this is all you are looking for, Alpha Levi!” I felt pain surging through my chest as she got further, but I couldn't stop her. Suddenly my mouth opened, and I heard myself speaking without realising I was doing it. “At least tell me your name and I promise not to follow you!” I said, confused as to why I wanted to know about her. Without stopping in her tracks, she sighed softly, and her intriguing voice filled the air again. “Alleera! My name is Alleera! Now do good, and keep your word! Next time I see you, I will k*ll you without a second thought. I close my eyes and let my half-numbing body slump on the ground. I didn’t care about my other senses anymore; all I cared about was her scent. How was this possible? How can she have the same scent as my deceased Mate? Was this another sick game of the Gods? Was every member of my family cursed to live a nightmare like this?
