Birdie's POV I was surprised by Luke’s invitation, but I gladly accepted it. Dad was gone for the whole day, and he might even stay in Nashville overnight. Emergencies like these happened often, and other doctors in different states called Dad when there was something they couldn’t take care of themselves.
