Luke's POV It was strange seeing my daughter and son with Birdie. Not because she wasn’t good with them, but because they seemed to like Birdie more than their own mother. She was great with the kids, and I watched her from the kitchen as I grabbed a beer out of the fridge. “She won’t stay the night, right?” Delilah asked, stirring whatever she was cooking in that pot. She wasn’t a bad cook, but I didn’t really care about what she put on our plates. As long as the kids were fed. “I’ll take her home after dinner.
