Chapter 19: Confession!

William’s POV

As I drive I don't know why I feel so uncomfortable with every move I make, Ericka couldn't help but look at me a few times. If he asks me the reason, I also don't know what to answer, I don't feel like it's because Felix and I were left alone there or I'm just paranoid because of what's happening.

Who isn't? I was with him and next to him but I didn't even know that he had been poisoned and if we just late to take him to the hospital, he must be dead right now.

My grip tight in the steering wheel while driving, I bit my lower lips. Is Felix really meant what he said that maybe the incident happen that time is the reason why Troy and others died?

I don’t want to believe but now that Felix being poisoned maybe he is right, someone make revenge for her, but who is the person who knows about the incident that day?

"Are you all right, William? I've been seeing you anxious and uncomfortable with your actions; are you thinking of something?" Ericka can’t help to ask me now, maybe even she feels so worried in my action.

“W-well, I am just worried for Felix. What if someone try to poison him again?” I replied, “We shouldn’t have left him along, it should have left one of us to accompany him there.” I added.

“B-but he is in the hospital, maybe it’s impossible to someone to try to kill him there.” Ericka said but I can see the doubt in her own words.

Because if at the University there are many students eating in the canteen, and we ourselves reached for the plate from the canteen sellers but still managed to poison Felix, it is not unlikely that even in the hospital someone will be able to do that without being caught.

No matter how rush we want for us to get to the police station, there an accident that make us took a long time to get there. We are so eager to know who did something to Felix and what is they reason.

When we arrived at the police station, there was a woman our age, she was the one who handed Ericka's orders earlier in the canteen but we didn't even notice that she had put something strange in the food.

Ericka immediately walks toward where the girl is, I hold her hand. I can let her hit the woman because of her emotion.

“You, how dare you to poison my friend, did he do something wrong to you that you want him to die! Are you not afraid of the karma you will get?” Ericka really can’t calm herself, she was so furious.

She doesn’t care if someone is looking to her, Felix is one of our friends who did not leave our side no matter what happen and I can understand why Ericka is acting like this.

But to our shock, the woman in front just laugh to everything Ericka said.

“Afraid of karma, shouldn't you be asking that yourself? Aren't you afraid of your karma, of what might happen to you because of what you did?” The woman laugh again giving chills to my spine, why she acting like that?

“What do you mean by what she did?" Mr. Lorente asked, frowning as he looked at the woman, I felt very nervous because of that.

What if the woman we were talking to knew what had happened then and she will confess everything now, we would definitely be damned.

The woman stares at Mr. Lorente and of out sudden, the woman just cries.

“I didn’t want to do that, they just paid me. They said that when that man died, he would make more money that I could get, but when the man was taken to the hospital and heard that he was okay and alive, they never talked to me again!” She cried so hard, it is so different how she acts earlier.

What is this?

Is she trying to confuse us about what happening real?

I saw that Ericka's eyebrows were raised, "don't pretend, and why do you acting so nice now when you act like a pro killer but earlier like you did it normally! Don't make us stupid anymore!” Ericka shouted, “Just tell us why you did that to our friend, what is your real reason!”

Ericka was about to touch her hair and pull when Mr. Lorente stop them. "Calm down first, Ms. Ericka I know you were shocked by what happened earlier but we need to talk to the suspect properly rather than go through to the violence." He said and made Ericka sit down again.

"Can we ask what the people who talked to you to poison their friend look like?" Mr. Cornel on the side also asks, but the woman shakes her head.

“I-I don’t know, they suddenly called me out of now where and offered me money for a simple job, they said, I agreed because I also needed money at that time so I agreed. They also messaged where to I can find the poison I was going to use.” He said.

“Are you saying you don’t have any intention or angry with the man you poisoned? It all about money that is why to accept their offer, but when you unsuccessful kill the man, they ignore you,” Mr. Lorente ask and the women just nodded.

“Yes,” She answer.

“Then can I ask how you put the poison in his food?” I was the one who just ask now; I couldn't stop myself from asking what was on my mind.

“The plate, the poison is already in the plate that is why you did not see me putting the poison in his food.” She confesses.

“Can you tell us what the poison bottle look is like?” Mr. Lorente asks again.

The Woman nod, “yes, it a small white bottle like the sleeping pills."
