Chapter One
"Hey look, new girl!".
Everywhere she looked amused boys and intrigued girls huddled close, making no effort to even pretend not to be staring. Lexy felt the chills of the 'grave yard silence' she called for herself as she passed by myriads of eyes following her and the unfriendliness in the whispers of "new girl" that trailed after her.
" What's up with the blue hair do?", she heard someone sneer.
Lexy sighed inwardly.
The bell rang, shrill and deafening, saving her from further embarrassment. In a moment, the hallway was deserted. She was alone now.
'Pooh!'
****************************************
This was exactly what Lexy had been avoiding: the stress of moving into a new neighbourhood. And a new school. What more a school known to have accommodated students only of the wealthiest statuses.
Lexy was confused. Last she checked her mum was a jobless secretary (no offence mum). They were not rich enough to afford Dannexville; living as middle class was even over doing it. They were in the broke zone, barely managing on the last of her mother's hard earned savings. All of a sudden her mother had dragged her here, bags and all; doing the unbelievable and living like any bourgeoise woman out there. She was hardly at home though, after they settled in. 'I wonder if she's got a new job', Lexy often thought to herself. She still didn't know yet because her mother had been awfully quiet about the whole thing.
She had wanted to save her mother the trouble and the expenses by opting for a local school in the neighborhood but unfortunately Dannexville didn't go cheap. The least expensive ones were not accepting any new students and they weren't even non expensive in the first place.
Lexy didn't know how her mother had done it but here she was in the one expensive school, probably the highest fee paying;
'PinOak Flores' High.
Odd name for a school if you asked her, but she wanted to know what it held in stock for her anyways.
Hopefully she'd make some non arrogant friends here; supposing all the rich kids weren't snobs or anything.
