---Derek's POV---
I walked away from Missy, feeling her eyes on my back and I didn't mind it one bit.. I wanted to try to leave her curious and hopefully wanting to know more about me as much as I feel that when I'm around her. She catches my interest instantly and it's not even the good looks.. it's different than that.
"Hey man how did it go? She is still looking over here at you and it's not even a bad look, so I'm going to assume it went just fine?" Josh asks without expecting an actual answer, since he has an idea, so I can confirm or deny it on my own.
"I think it went well.. I told her thank you and I honestly felt a chemistry between us. So I'm buying what she was selling over there and now going to a musical to see her." I said to him as his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.
"You don't go to musicals." He states as if it wasn't obvious to me. "I know I don't normally, but I'm trying new things.. So I am now.. because she is performing in one and I want to see that." I explain as best as I can, which causes him to nod and smile at me before looking over my shoulder. "She is still staring over here at you, so turn around, then smile and wave at her.. if it makes her blush she actually likes you." He states to me as I take his advice because he really is a ladies man.
I turn around and lock gazes with her as I smirk her way, then wave. She blushes instantly as she waves, then turns around as the guy behind her just glares daggers at me.. If looks could kill, I would definitely be dead by now.. I'm glad to know she has no interest in him. That helps give me some confidence in this situation.
We heard the guy call our names as we walked to the front of the line, since there were only two of us and I guess more in all the other groups ahead of us. The restaurant is packed but just feeling lively.. It's the life of the party because everyone looks like they are having a great time here.
We give the pretty cute waitress our drink and food order right away, not wanting to wait as long.. Pretty girls prance all around this place so quickly that I can't even tell who is working or a customer here.. But even with all the beautiful ladies running around having fun and enticing Josh.. I can't help but just think about Missy oddly enough.
I came here with the intent of flirting and trying to find something worth working in a relationship with in this restaurant and, strange enough, I found it out of straight serendipity outside of here.. The right place at the right time and all I want to do is head back out there to talk more with her.
But I watch her from the window, talking plus waving at the multiple people out there with her by the booths.. as she jumps onto her motorcycle with her helmet and backpack on, zooming off.. I feel myself get sad at the thought that I can't even try to see if I can catch up to her because my motorcycle is still at the hospital.
"What are you day dreaming about over there? When is there so much fine tail in here?" Josh asks me, as I honestly state. "Missy.. surprisingly enough."
He smiles at me and nods in understanding.. He knows I don't get attached to women at all, so the fact that I'm reacting like this to just talking to her for a couple moments, has got to mean something.. Maybe it just means I'm crazy, but I really hope not.
"What about her?" He asks me as I glance over at him nervously.. we never really have talks like this.. "Well she is so deep.. I can tell there is more in that head that she doesn't let out, just by the little bit she has let slip from her lips.. You can tell she is smart but obviously cautious, meaning she has been let down in her past.. In more ways than one.. there is just so much mystery that I want to uncover.. not to mention her stunning looks that are only topped by those breathtaking eyes.. I have never seen a girl like her or even talked to one like I have with her and we have only had two short conversations.. what does that say about me?.. Well, either way, I just really love the sparky connection we have automatically.. I'm just nervous about seeing her tomorrow." I explained as best as I could.
"Makes sense... would you feel better if I came with you tomorrow?" He asks me as I smile and nod.. but then shake my head. "Don't feel any obligation to go with me." I reply as he waves off my statement. "I'm coming.. but you owe me dinner after." He says playfully as I smile and nod again at him in agreement of his reasonable terms.
"Ok.. thanks man, that means a lot." I reply to him as he shrugs his shoulders before we eat the delicious food that I want to try again! Well worth the wait.
"So what kind of musical?" Josh asks me in between bites as I shrug my shoulders. "I was trying to impress so much, that I forgot to ask." I explain as he laughs at me, saying, "Rookie move but it's ok we will survive.. It's just nice to see you interested in something other than work, it's a good look at you.. just saying." he exclaims to me as I shyly smile, shrugging my shoulders back to him.
"Well he better put his interest somewhere else.. because Missy is mine." The guy from the booth with her before, demands this from me.. just glaring daggers my way. He crosses his arms across his chest while puffing it out with his arms, trying to look like a bigger threat than he really is.
"Why do you care what I do with my interest?.. Missy said she wasn't dating you and that the other guy was her ex.. so it shouldn't matter what she nor I decide to do in our personal time.. I'm just a customer who bought tickets to watch a show.. that's all.. don't worry about anything that I do." I try to persuade him to leave us alone as he groans out, obviously disliking that comment.
"I have been working for years to get with her and there is no way I'm going to let a douchebag like you sneak in under my radar.. step the f*#k off man.. last warning." He demands from me with more of a threatening tone, puffing his cheat out more.. But it wasn't intimidating the first time, so it's definitely not now.
I smirked at him before replying. "Well, luckily for you.. I'm just a man who bought some tickets to a show and if anything happens beyond that, then so be it because it's meant to happen.. But just know I'm not a person to bow down and give up when it comes to something I'm interested in.. I mean come on, I'm a doctor.. and you know as well as I that Missy is very very interesting.. So threaten me all you want.. it's not going to work. I'm not leaving her alone until she tells me to leave her alone."
"You'll regret that, doctor pretty boy." He tries to insult, but that's not bad if that's what he really thinks of me. I wink at him, pissing him off more as he flips around and storming out by shoving past people through the restaurant.
"Wow, making friends like you wanted to already, by fighting for her and you don't know a thing about her.. was this love at first sight bullshit?" Josh asks in shock of the situation, causing me to roll my eyes in annoyance.. I know this is fast moving. I don't care.
"I know she is a performer named Missy.. she cares about others, tries to help, even though she doesn't know them.. because that's exactly what she did for me.. She has men interested in her from all around that have seen more than I have and that intrigues me more.. I don't want her because the other men do.. I am already interested and I just hope I can get the chance to know her like these other guys do.. enough said." I state to him as he rolls his eyes at me, then replies. "Well then you better be watching your back because that motherf*#ker looked like a crazy obsessed man." He states to me taking another bite.
I replied without hesitation. "All the more reason for me to be there for her.. she obviously doesn't want to be with him like that.. she told me that he likes her and she doesn't like him.. but that he is too stupid to figure it out. So I can try to help with that." I say with the little bit of confidence I have left.
"Alright but I think you still need to watch your back.. are you ready to head out?" He asks me as I nod, pushing the empty plate forward, then standing up. I reached for my wallet as we got to the front counter to pay. But before I can even take anything out, Josh pays without hesitation, not even giving me a chance. I tried to hand him my 20$ and he wouldn't take it. "I got today and you got tomorrow and then, depending on how things go tomorrow, we can head out again the next day.. to either celebrate or find other women." He explained, making me laugh and nod, liking that idea.
We headed back to the hospital so I could grab my motorcycle to enjoy the rest of my night relaxing. "Thanks for lunch man.. I really needed that! I'll see you tomorrow.. If you want, we can get some brunch before the musical since I don't know how long it is going to last." I suggest as he smiles, then giving me the thumbs up. "Sounds good, just call me when you're ready to get together." He states waving, then driving away from myself who is already straddling over my motorcycle to head back to my place.
I start up hearing the motor rev before I sink down, really getting comfy on my bike..I take off faster than a blink of your eyes. I love the feeling of the wind on my face, it feels as if I'm flying.. I feel so free when I ride and I couldn't be happier with how beautiful this day is.. I just hope that the rest of the week is like this so I can ride all week without issues.
