UNEXPECTED

-Kriiiiiinnnnggg- "Ugh! The sound is quite deafening!" Alice complained going back to her beauty sleep. "What a nice luminous day. Wakey, wakey, we have lots to do today," Rosie jumped waking her best friend up. Alice and Rosie, the best of friends. They were together for more than 10 years. They studied at the same school. They were together all the time. They are studying at the same university, far from home. "Breakfast's ready" she called out to Alice. They quickly ate their breakfast and went to their university. They had special classes that day. They had to do a few projects to get extra marks for their exam. They arrived and Rosie parked her car under a shady tree. They then went straight to the hall where everyone was waiting for them. "Hey!Good morning, Rosie!" "Good morning, Heath! Have you guys searched about it?" "Yes, Max and Riley did it," "Good. Now let's...." "Look who's here. The nerdy ones.Duh!" Julie interrupted. Julie is the queen bee at the university. The rich, popular girl everyone knows and boys hit on. She is the meanest of all the popular kids. She hates Rosie as she is the good one among the popular kids. "Back off, Julie!" Alice came in. "Oh, who's here? The loyal SLAVE of a.." "Stop it, Julie. That's the least respect you"ll get," Max said. "Stop it, guys. Let's not make it a scene," Rosie said. They all then went to class. All of them sat at their tables. Alice and Rosie sat in the front row as usual. Class started and the teacher gave them projects to do. There should be six in a group. So, Rosie, Alice, Max, Heath, Riley, and Theo was in a group. "You have three weeks to finish this project. Creative ones will get bonus points and mark either as a group, individually, or both. Make sure all of you cooperate in this project," the teacher said. "Okay, Madam Sally," the class chorused. Rosie's group agreed to meet up at everyone's place alternatively so that it will be fair. They agreed to meet up at Rosie's and Alice's house today. After classes, they all drove to Rosie's place. It was normal from the outside but as they went in, they were all flabbergasted. "It's all Rosie's idea guys. Definitely not mine," Alice said. "You liar. She helped me with these," Rosie admitted. "It's so beautiful. Uhmm, Rosie..." "Guys, I'm hungry now. Let's eat." Max interrupted Riley. "Yeah, I am too," Theo agreed. "Lunch will be served in 10 minutes," Rosie and Alice chorused. "Okay, until then I will just look around the house," Max said going around. Alice and Rosie both went into the kitchen. They started cooking. Alice was chopping the vegetables while Rosie was the one cooking. Rosie is definitely a good cook. They all ate lunch and went to work. After a few hours of work and the first part of their work was done, everyone went home. Alice kept all the things safely on the table and started cleaning the living room as Rosie went to take a quick hot bath. She then made some delicious dinner for herself and Alice. It was Alice's favorite noodles. They had their dinner while chit-chatting. Then, they continued a little part of their project. Alice went to sleep after that as she was tired. Rosie promised to go to bed after finishing a little part of it. ---3 A.M--- "Still awake, Rosie?" "Doing some-----" "Research. Ya. You know what? You should rest, dude," "But Ally----" "It's important, it's needy, any more reasons?" "Alice, but---" "No 'but's.Off to bed now!" "Al----" "NOW!" "Fine!" Frowning, Rosie went to bed. They both had a good night's sleep. The next morning, the alarm went off. Rosie woke up feeling fresh as always. She woke Alice up, have a quick shower, and went to make breakfast. She and Alice then went to their university. They went a little early as they want to discuss their project with their fellow group members. "Good morning, guys," "Hey, Rosie. Wanna play one round of chess before discussions?" "No, thanks, Max but I'll surely like to have a science rapid fire round. Interested?" "Oh, no. I mean ya, sure but I bet you"ll win," "Let's see. Luck doesn't always support the same person," "Oh, yeah. I won," "I told you so," "It's okay, Max. Don't cry," "I'm not----" "Enough playing, guys. Riley's here. Let's get back to work," Theo interrupted. They discussed all the information they've gathered and further into the project for a long time. Everyone did go back and do some extra work after all. They were all busy discussing when Heath broke the conversation. "Time for classes, guys," he said. "Let's go," Alice said. "Surely Madam Sally will give us time to discuss," Max said after her. "Ok, then. Let's go to class," Rosie continued. They were all walking to class while talking. Max and Rosie were talking about the project when she bumped into a guy accidentally. "I'm----" "Watch where you're going, dude!" Max said interrupting Rosie. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." said the guy. "It's okay. It's my fault too. By the way, are you new here because I've never seen you here before," "Ya. I just joined. I'm----" "Hey, handsome.New here? Let me show you around." Julie came out of nowhere. She glared at Rosie telling "Don't talk to these nerds. They are like lovegrass, sticking on everyone who comes near them," "Stop it, Julie," Alice said. Just before they could fight, the new guy said, "It's okay, girls. I'll find my way around," Julie went away shrugging her shoulders at Rosie. Rosie then said goodbye to the guy and went to class with Alice and Max. Madam Sally came a little late to class that day. The whole class greeted her. "Sorry to be late, students. I had some urgent work to do. By the way, we have someone new joining us today. Guys, please welcome Mr.Henri Maxmus," "It's the new guy," Alice said shaking Rosie. "Ya. It's him," Rosie agreed. "He's cute. Oh my god! Just look at him. Hot!!" "Seriously, Alice?" "Henri, you may join any groups you like. We're doing a project here by groups to make you gain extra marks for your examination," "Okay, Madam. I'll join Chris's group," "Looks like he knows Chris Heffle," Riley said. "Maybe they are old friends or neighbors. Possibilities you know," Max replied. --At the cafeteria-- Rosie and her friends were sitting at the table, talking happily. A few moments later, Henri asked to join in with Chris and some other boys. They all sat there talking and knowing each other. They also exchanged phone numbers. "I saw you. Kind of irritated with Henri?" Theo asked Max when they were alone. "Of course! Did you just saw how he was talking with Rosie? Surely he's into her," Max said in an irritated tone. "Wait a sec. Rosie? Are you in love with her?" Heath asked surprised. "What? No--yes, I mean, I don't know," Max stammered. "She's kind, cute, smart. She's just perfect you know," "Ya. The type most of them will fall in love just like you," Theo and Heath chorused. They all laughed and walked to their class. The next class was English. Everyone was happy and went to the literature room. Along the hallway, Henri was talking to Rosie to know her better. They had so much in common. As they were talking, Julie came towards them with her so-called boyfriend who was actually her Maths tutor, Draco Lightwing. Draco was the popular guy every girl dreamt of. His face brightened as he saw Rosie. They were good friends as Rosie had helped him out in his Science lessons which he was not so good at. Rosie's teaching had made him get an A in Science. Of course, Julie didn't like it so, she tried proposing to Draco and he recused her as he was not ready to have any relationship with anyone. So, she found another way to be with him. Draco was good in Maths so, Julie made him her Maths tutor. This helped Draco with his extra curriculum. Julie always went around with him by reasoning to ask Maths questions to him as he is her tutor and told Rosie and her friends that they were dating and Draco was her boyfriend. Whenever Draco tried to ask for help from Rosie, Julie will just join in with them. This kind of pissed Draco but she was patient. As Draco raised his hand to greet Rosie with a wave, Julie stopped him by asking a question. Draco ignored her telling her that he will see that in their class after school and walked towards Rosie. "Hey, Rosie. How are you? Haven't seen you for a long time," "Oh.Hi, Draco. I'm fine. How about you?" "I'm-----" "Hey, Rosie! Class is about to start!" Annie called out to her. Everyone turned to Annie. Rosie and Alice rolled their eyes. Annie was Julie's best friend. There are three of them in their circle---Julie(the queen), Annie, and Liz(the sidekicks). Annie and Liz always followed Julie's commands. Rosie and Draco waved goodbye to each other and went to their classes. In Rosie's class, her professor announced that there will be the annual ball, The Belle Ball which is two days from that day. Everyone was ecstatic. Rosie and Alice were selected to lead the ball as they are the best female dancers there. Their pairs were Henri and Draco. Alice chose to pair up with Henri whereas Rosie paired up with Draco. Unfortunately, Draco was from a different class. After classes, everyone gathered at the famous Italian restaurant in town. Draco was also present there with his friends. They all ate their food while discussing the attire they will be wearing for the upcoming ball. They selected the theme and colors. They even selected the type of dress and suit they will be wearing that day.
