It was 7:30 am when I was awaken by loud noises coming from outside. And the noises were really loud. It was Saturday morning. I thought most people were off on Saturdays. But I probably thought that because I was off on Saturdays, so I figured everyone had to be off.I looked over and noticed my husband was gone, so he probably went to get breakfast. He did the same routine every Saturday. Called in an order at Waffle House, then we would eat in our living room while we watched the news. I kind of liked the special routine we had. But at the same time, I didn't. My husband isn't exactly the exciting type of guy. He always wanted everything to be in sequential order, and the exact same way each time he did it. Maybe that's why I became bored with being married to him. Every girl wants to get a little crazy every once in a while, Right?
Anyway, it had been ten minutes since I had woke up and the noise seemed to be getting louder. But this time, I heard talking. I put my robe on with a pair of my bedroom slippers, and glanced out my window.
I saw a moving truck, so someone had finally bought that old house next door. No one had lived there for a while. I was immediately excited because I could possibly have a friendly neighbor. I didn't have any friends in my neighborhood because everyone was stuck up.
"What are you looking at?" My husband said while walking in the room with food bags in his hand.
"Did you see that moving truck when you pulled up?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah. Can you believe someone bought that old house?"
"I know right? I was thinking the same thing. It's been five years." I responded while I continued to look at the window.
"Did you happen to see who was moving in?" I asked.
" I only saw a man. He was about my height, and he looks like a nice guy. We should go over and meet him later, you know? Like bring a gift or something." He responded with a full mouth.
"Yeah we should." I said closing the curtain and making my way to our bed.
After we got done eating, my husband went for his usual jog. And I hopped in the shower. When me and my husband were both back at home, we decided to sit downstairs and watch tv.
"You wanna play cards?" Shawn said with a sigh of boredom.
"Let's do it" I responded.
As we played, we completely forgot about time. We were probably playing about 5 hours.
"You wanna go ahead to meet the new neighbor before it gets too late?" Shawn asked as we finished the last round of spades.
"Yeah let's go" I responded
We began to walk next door, it only took us 30 seconds to get over there.
Shawn rang the doorbell.
About 20 seconds later, the door opened.
"Omg" I blurted out.
It was him....
