Doyle sat at his desk in the squad room and thought about what he’d learned. He carefully considered the theories he had come up with.
According to Nella, Jiggy and Nino seemed to be involved. Nino was Fornesi’s son. But, some people had heard the word “nephew” used and since that couldn’t mean Nino, it must be Jiggy, who Nella thought was just a mafia flunky. But common flunkies aren’t usually seen having dinner with the sons of powerful families. There had to be something more to him. Could Nino have caused Jiggy to go on his bashing spree? The stranger who’d interfered had said that Nino was sorry. Sorry for making Jiggy angry enough to beat people?
And who was Jiggy’s uncle? Why would that matter to a crime boss if Jiggy wasn’t family?
