Doyle tried to map out his next moves. He had guesses but none of them strong enough to make any moves. Jiggy was the lynchpin. He reasoned that if he could identify Jiggy, he could bring the whole case into focus.
The Fornesi family was also at the heart of the case. There weren’t many organizations that could do what Kyle experienced. It took money and connections and muscle to rearrange someone’s life. If the mafia was involved, Doyle wondered why they didn’t just resort to their default methods and disappear the witnesses? He knew they had a code that no innocents should ever be harmed, but did witnesses qualify as innocents? Or, were they just showing a kinder gentler side of the family business?
