Chapter 20 A few days later, Doyle sat at home, his arm in a sling, which he considered unnecessary for a flesh wound. He felt the same about all the time off for the slight injury. He’d refused treatment until he and Kord had charged Al Morgan—even if he was in pain and being treated by doctors and nurses. Then they’d returned to the station house, both of them looking like they’d scuffled in the dirt, which wasn’t far from the truth. The captain had seemed unhappy about the case being closed. One reason, it turned out, was that Al Morgan was the nephew of Kaine, the original detective on the case two years before. That forced Captain Herd to open an investigation on a cop. Kaine would be arrested in Arizona and extradited back to Philly where he’d be charged and tried. Doyle wondered
