Chapter 21 With the case wrapped up, as far as arresting the actual assailant, Doyle didn’t mind being called into the captain’s office early in the morning. Slightly more than two weeks to the day he’d assigned the case to them. This time, Doyle knew what to expect: Accolades. They’d solved the case, at least on the surface. Doyle was sure there was something else going on under the surface and he wasn’t entirely convinced that the captain wasn’t involved. For now, though, they’d collared the basher.
