Elis's heart was racing as he stared at the door, his eyes fixed on the handle as it slowly turned. A figure stood in the doorway, silhouetted by the dim light of the hospital hallway.
The figure stepped forward, and Elis saw that it was a tall, imposing man with a chiseled jawline and piercing blue eyes. He was dressed in a black suit, and his presence seemed to fill the room.
"Can I help you?" Elis asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
The man smiled, and his eyes seemed to gleam with amusement. "I'm here to help you, Elis," he said. "My name is Marcus, and I work for a...company that's been keeping an eye on you."
Elis's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Marcus stepped closer, his movements fluid and confident. "Your family, Elis," he said. "They're in a lot of trouble. And you're in danger too."
Elis felt a surge of fear. "What are you talking about?"
Marcus sat down in the chair beside Elis's bed, his movements calm and deliberate. "Your family has made some powerful enemies, Elis," he said. "Enemies who will stop at nothing to get what they want."
Elis shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs. "I don't understand," he said.
Marcus leaned forward, his eyes locked on Elis's. "You're in danger, Elis," he said. "But I can help you. I can keep you safe."
Elis hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of him wanted to trust Marcus, but another part was screaming warning.
"Who are you?" Elis asked, trying to stall for time.
Marcus smiled again, and this time, Elis saw a glimmer of something else in his eyes. Something that looked almost like...sympathy.
"I'm an old friend of your family's," Marcus said. "Someone who's been watching out for you for a long time."
Elis's eyes narrowed. He didn't like the sound of that.
As he looked at Marcus, Elis noticed something strange. A small tattoo on his hand, a symbol that looked eerily familiar.
"What's that?" Elis asked, pointing to the tattoo.
Marcus's expression changed, and for a moment, Elis saw a flash of fear in his eyes.
"It's nothing," Marcus said quickly. "Just a...a family crest."
Elis wasn't convinced. He felt like there was more to the story, and he was determined to find out what it was.
As he looked at Marcus, Elis realized that he had a choice to make. He could trust Marcus, or he could try to find out more about him.
But before he could make a decision, Marcus stood up and smiled.
"I'll be back," he said. "And when I am, we'll get started on getting you out of here."
And with that, Marcus turned and walked out of the room, leaving Elis feeling more confused and scared than ever.
As the door closed behind Marcus, Elis felt a sense of unease. Who was this man, and what did he want?
He tried to shake off the feeling, telling himself that he was safe in the hospital. But as he lay back in bed, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
And then, just as he was starting to drift off to sleep, he heard a faint whisper in his ear.
"Elis, you're not safe. Not even here."
Elis's eyes snapped open, and he looked around the room, but there was no one there.
The voice seemed to come from all around him, echoing off the walls.
And then, everything went black.
When Elis came to, he was lying in bed, and Elena was standing beside him, a look of concern on her face.
"Elis, what's wrong?" she asked. "You were thrashing around and screaming."
Elis shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs. "I don't know," he said. "I just had a bad dream, I guess."
Elena smiled and took his hand. "You're safe now," she said. "I'm here."
But as Elis looked at her, he couldn't shake the feeling that they were far from safe. That they were in grave danger, and that Marcus was just the tip of the iceberg.
As Elis looked at Elena, he realized that he had to tell her about Marcus. He had to tell her about the strange feeling he got from him.
"Elena," Elis said, his voice low. "I need to tell you something."
Elena looked at him, her eyes questioning. "What is it?" she asked.
Elis took a deep breath. "I think we should get out of here," he said. "I think we should go somewhere safe."
Elena's eyes widened, and she nodded. "I think you're right," she said. "Let's get out of here."
As they made their way out of the hospital, Elis couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He looked around, but there was no one there.
But then, he saw a figure in the distance. A figure with a black suit and a chiseled jawline.
Marcus.
Elis's heart skipped a beat as he realized that they were not alone.
