Valentina watched as the cop plummeted towards the rocks, turning head over heels, screaming and helplessly clawing at the air. The drop was so long that when the policeman hit the rocks, there was a second of delay until the sound of the sickening thud reached Roberto’s ears. Valentina stepped back onto the trail, desperately looking up and down it, her heart pounding - nobody was around, it was still deserted. She took a step towards the bicycle, thinking she could use it to get away fast... but then stopped herself. This could seem like an accident. She peered over the cliff edge again. A wave broke over the cop’s body, and as the water rushed back out, it rolled around, caught in the rocks.
