Chapter 3
(Lianna’s pov)
That night, I tossed and turned in my bed. I was unable to sleep. I kept thinking of the human boy, Ethan. The human world smelled so good.
How would it feel to be in his arms? How would it feel for him to call me his love and for me to be his wife? I think he saw me.
“Did he see me? If he did then is he thinking of me? What does he think about me?” I kept asking myself out loud.
I was too excited. The boy looked more handsome up close. If only I could marry him and be with him forever. Just then, a thought entered my head.
There was a witch that lived at the outskirts of the pack. I could meet her and tell her my heart desires. Maybe she could help me.
Yes! That is what I would do. I had overheard my mother’s sister tell my mother the witch helped her restore her virginity.
I had just one day before my wedding to make things go my way. I could run away before my wedding and I could leave a note asking the king not to blame anyone. Or they could frame it as suicide.
Time was going and I had to act fast. I slept like a baby
that night. I would soon meet the love of my life and be with him and I could feel it.
Morning came in the Moon Twilight pack and my mother had started preparations for my wedding to that old man.
My seven sisters were still having their beauty sleep and my only brother was training in the courtyard with my father. I could hear my mother give out orders.
“Lift the drapes and repaint this area! My daughter is not just getting married to an alpha but to a king. I want everything to be perfect.”
I quickly took a shower, dressed and began to map out my plan to the witch’s house. I dodged the palace guards so that I would not get questioned by anyone and began to locate where the witch was.
She lives at the far end of the pack and I’m sure people would be wondering what a wolf princess was doing so I disguised myself very well.
I wore a gown that had a hoodie. The sun was hot and scorching but it was not hot like the love I had for Ethan and I would do anything to reunite with him.
And besides, my supposed wedding was the next day and I had to stop it.
I quickly walked to the witch’s hut undetected,my heart pounding with determination, driven by my love for Ethan.
After an hour of intense walk ,I finally reached. I was afraid. The aura of the surroundings was scary. It was an old hut that had creaks and webs.
Outside, were wolf carcasses and people's skeletons. All the flowers around there died and the floor was filled with black sand. It seemed nothing with life survived around there.
But I didn’t care, anything for Ethan. After studying the environment and being indecisive for sometime,I finally knocked on the door.
“Enter!” The witch’s raspy voice beckoned. I was quite surprised. I thought she did not like visitors. I stepped inside.
Inside of the hut was dim and I had to adjust my eyes. It was even nastier inside. Her hut had no rooms, just a very big space that was extremely dirty and tattered. She had a worn out bed and torn old clothes that were scattered everywhere.
The house stunk and grey wolves that looked so hungry and skinny with green eyes and a mischievous smile were lying loyally on the floor. I guessed those were werewolves that she turned into real wolves to do her biddings forever.
I guess they were not able to pay the price she gave them so she turned them into wolves.
“Would I be turned into a wolf forever too? Oh no! Moon goddess please!” I muttered under my breath. The witch laughed. It seemed she could read my mind.
Her potion pot was in one corner and it stunk like rotten fish. Maggots were coming out of it too. She was eating and licking her fingers and she threw two bones on the floor and the wolves rushed to pick them. They fought over the bones.
She got up from the bed and I struggled to see her face. She was hideous. She was fat and sloppy, even more irritating than the lycan king. She looked…otherworldly.
Her head did not have hair, they had snakes on it. Her skin was orange and her eyes were blue. Her werewolf fangs stuck out. I wanted to run but my legs held me where I was.
I had to be brave. She looked more like a snake human with scaly skin.
“Welcome, Lianna,” the witch croaked, her eyes glinting with wickedness. “I sense your desperation.”
I stood there, afraid of the demon before me and thinking of Ethan was really worth it. She came even closer to me and oh, she stunk! I twitched my nose.
“Oh baby, don’t look at me like that. I know I stink and I’m uglier and harder to look at than your future husband.”
She kept licking her fingers and the two wolves circled around her. I wanted to make my request and leave here as soon as possible.
“What is Alpha Cole’s beautiful daughter, the Goldilocks and breathtaking last child, doing here? At a miserable and ugly old woman’s hut?”
The witch asked as she touched my hair. “Your mom, her sister and I have dealt together once and she escaped me. Will you be so lucky?”
I wasn’t even in the mood to know what my mother came here for. I got on my knees. “Please, help me become human, I must reunite with my one true love.”
The witch cackled. “Oh, your family never ceases to amaze me. So you’re in love with a human?”
She laughed and her wolves laughed for a long time too. I bent my head in shame.
“I knew it was a bad idea to let kids watch the bubble…sigh.. but no one wants to listen to an old, miserable witch.”
She then picked her nails. “Love knows no bounds…indeed…I was once in love..but this isn’t about me. Your transformation will come at a price.”
“I’ll pay any price,” I vowed.”
The witch’s smile revealed crooked teeth. “You ask me for so many things. Do you not know?” She asked as she circled me, her snakes sticking their heads out like they wanted to bite me.
“You ask to stop your wolf monitor. You ask for the prince to fall in love with you, you ask to leave the wolf world to the human world undetected and you ask to disappear from the lycan king's home.”
I was shaken. She knew too much. Well, what did I expect from a witch?
“Is your wedding not tomorrow?” She asked sternly.
I almost cried. “Please help me. I don’t want to marry him. I won’t be able to stand him touching me. Please.”
I cried and held the witch’s legs even if she stunk.
“No, you will marry him. But you will disappear from his pack. If you did not want to marry him, you would’ve come earlier.”
I cried on the floor.
“Oh….I see…you do not want him to touch you. You want to meet your Ethan pure……sigh….little kids.”
I looked up at her immediately and nodded. “Yes.”
She laughed.
“Small thing…. The lycan king will touch you, but I can still help you.”
I looked into her eyes searching for answers.
“You can be a virgin twice.”
My eyes grew wide. Then she walked to her bed and sat on it. “Let’s go straight to business…”
She then brought out an old book.
“I will give you an opportunity to go to the human world for three days. After three days, you will be fully here. The three days are just a test trial. You will still be in the werewolf world. I will turn into you and replace you with your husband for three days and you will be up there.”
I nodded as I listened.
“Then you will come back and after a week of coming back and ensuring the lycan king, you will go there forever, after you’ve paid your price, that is. I will communicate with you in dreams.”
The witch paused to look at me then she carried her spell book from her bed, opened it and conjured something. She said some words and Ethan came up in the form of a holograph.
“That’s him,” I screamed and ran to touch him and she hit my hand.
“Not so fast, sweetheart!” The witch said with a sinister smile.
