CHAPTER 1 – The Accident I Dr. Gregory Valdemaro awakened in a dungeon where only a ray of light passes through. He shouted and came near the wooden bars beside the wooden door. A guard in an ancient uniform came near and laughed at him when he asked where he is and informed him that he is a doctor and needed to be in the hospital for his straight duty.   The guard while laughing stated that he is becoming insane. Mocking him, he said, “How come you’ll be a doctor? You are Kronos, the illegitimate son of the King of Barbador and you’ve been here for a month already. We even thought you were dead already because for two days you never even tried to wake up. Your King father never even dared to compromise to our own King to get you back. You are nothing to your father. Maybe, you will just die here.”   Stunned with what the guard stated, Dr. Gregory further asked the guard, “Where am I, and what date it is today?   Again the guard laughed and mockingly answered, “Seemed like your mind is out of nowhere. Where will you be? You are still here in Macedonia. This is the Kingdom of Macedonia and in case you forgot, our King is King Valdimir and we are in the bronze age time.”   Dr. Gregory has been startled. He could not understand, he thought he was just dreaming. Days have passed, however; he is still in the dungeon and the guards are calling him Kronos.   Dr. Gregory felt nausea hitting him hard. He sat at the corner edge of the dungeon and tried to reminisce about what happened to him. He started to play in his mind the day he was not yet in this dungeon.   “Paging Dr. Gregory Valdemaro, kindly go to the infectious disease area…  Paging Dr. Gregory Valdemaro please go to the infectious disease area.” The intercom’s sound can be heard at the whole Saint Andrews Hospital in Tagaytay City.   Upon hearing his name, he hurriedly went to the infectious disease area and there he found one of their COVID-19 patients, being tried to be revived by some nurses. Per their head nurse in the department, she suddenly had a convulsion after the tube had been put to her mouth that would help her breathe. He looked at the flattened heartbeat monitor and his shoulders dropped as well. The patient was not able to survive.   He has been on duty for four days straight now. He will just take a little nap and then work again. The hospital seems to be his home already. Tonight, he decided to go home. Although no one is there except Aling Laura, his old maid, he still needs to check his home and at the same time take a little rest even for the whole night until morning. He sent a message to Aling Laura that he is coming home and advised her not to come out of her room until he said so.   He is already an orphan. His parents died almost the same year. His father died in March 2018 due to a heart attack and her mother followed in October of the same year due to an unknown illness. She just weakened and slowly refused to eat. He knows that his mother died because of loneliness upon the death of his father. He has no other family so to speak. He has no wife or even a girlfriend because he became obsessed first in specializing in infectious diseases. Many single nurses and co-doctors however have secret admirations towards him considering his profession, education, and good looks plus his kind and humble attitude.   After making his rounds to his patients, he approached his co-doctor and the head nurse. “Dr. Pit and Nurse Thelma, I really need to take a break. I will go home first, get some clothes and a little rest. I can feel my head swirling already from tiredness.”   “No problem Dr. Greg, you may go,” Dr. Pit replied while Nurse Thelma just smiled and nodded.   After punching out from their bandy clock, Dr. Gregory slowly walked to the hospital’s parking lot going to his car, which is the latest top-of-the-line Toyota Fortuner.   He is a thirty-year-old doctor specializing in infectious diseases. When the COVID 19 outbreak started, he was one of the forefronts, in treating patients afflicted with it. Usually, he would just take a nap at his clinic and will return to duty thereafter. Tonight, he cannot take it anymore. He needs to go home to at least feel the warmth of his bed, take a little rest and eat some good food.   He was nearby in his Tagaytay home when drizzles started and an uproar of thunder filled the street. The cold air inside his Fortuner grew colder, almost dragging him to sleep. As his eyes are half asleep, lightning strikes that suddenly surprises him and illuminates a big black dog coming crossing the street. He immediately maneuvered to avoid the animal, but he lost his control.   A loud crash has been overwhelmed by the sudden outpour of rain. His Fortuner hit the side wall fence of the street, preventing his car from falling down the clip, but damaging to the full extent its front side. The young doctor’s head hit the driver’s side window glass. Before he totally lost consciousness, he felt someone hold his hand; lead him up like they were soaring going somewhere. II   Dr. Gregory called the guards again and tried to explain. He reiterated that he is not Kronos rather he is Dr. Gregory Valdemaro, a specialist doctor from the Philippines.   The guard again laughing stated that he is becoming really insane. Looking at him incredulously, he said, “Let me answer you again; you are not Dr. Gregory, you are Kronos, the illegitimate son of the King of Barbador and you’ve been here for a month already.”   One day, he heard the two guards nearby, talking. He sharpened his ears to hear what they were saying.    “Princess Adrijana is so ill; our Palace Doctor seemed to be unable to do nothing; will she just die?” one of the guards asked.   “That would be a tragedy in our Kingdom and King Valdimir might be greatly affected. Princess Adrijana is his only heir and his only living memory from his dead queen,” the other guard replied.   He shouted and called on the guards and asked them to tell their King that he can help to cure the princess. “Go tell your King I can cure her daughter, just let me out here, and bring me to the Princess.”   At first, they don’t want to listen. As he insisted they called their head of guards and informed him about his request.
