HER IMPACT

319 Words
I received a video call from an old friend I hadn't heard from in over two years. I was surprised to hear from him, I was in church then so I just stepped out to pick the call... Then we started conversing. He asked about almost everything and wanted to catch up with what he missed while he was away. This is what really caught me, after much conversation, he said "I'm so proud of the woman you're becoming, I never expected you to be this bold, more beautiful and ofcourse proud of yourself, you're going places girl... I smiled, I was happy that people are seeing the positive changes in me. I was happy that I was not the same girl he used to know, I explored, I learnt , I worked on myself and I got better. It's amazing what can be accomplished when we're committed to personal growth. Give yourself the opportunity to change and be a better you today... You'll be so proud of yourself later. I was once invited to teach about relationships at a youth program. Guess what? I declined the offer. Guess why? I was hesitant because I didn't feel like I was perfect enough to teach on such a personal and complex topic. But I later realized that my hesitancy might have prevented me from helping someone who was struggling. I reached out to the organizers and told them I would be willing to teach again if they needed me. This taught me that no one is perfect, and we can all learn from each other's experiences. So don't let your fears or doubts hold you back . Even if we don't feel like we're "good enough," we can still make an impact by sharing our stories and perspectives. So embrace your imperfections and take the leap, even if you're scared. Your willingness to share and grow is what really matters.
