CHAPTER ELEVEN.

The strong tangy and sour smell of sumac (a spice like a deep red powder, it has a smell like apple cider vinegar: It was on the black sash mask, the assassin had worn) came again. Li-Amh looked around him, everyone was enjoying the dance, any of them could have been the assassin, any of the women too. He looked at the dancers, though he doubted if it was a woman, but anything could happen His eyes met Rebecca's and he saw her smirk under her black veil, the veil looked like the one the assassin wore that day. Was it her.....but how? He turned to his side, Elidad wasn't looking at the dancers, he was forcing himself not to, instead he was drinking heavily, trying to get something out of his mind. Li-Amh understood this, Elidad had a bitter past with a dancer once, and that is why he must hate dancers. Well, he couldn't take it anymore, he stood up and walked out of the room. The evening was beautiful, and the moon was at its brightest, he had both hands to his back, gazing at the moon. Rebecca had seen him leave, so as the other girls danced, she sneaked out of the place, she needed to speak to him, because this was the last chance she had. She saw him, standing by, his hands to his back, he was looking at the moon. ' Never known you to be like this, thoughtful ' She scoffed and started to walk to him, then she halted when a young girl walked to where he was, she bowed her head. She was young and beautiful, with an innocent look. Rebecca watched the girl talking to him, he was smiling as they talked, then she saw him touch her on the head, he stroked her hair. She chuckled. "Did you get soft in this world? You are so fake, so good at faking emotions, playing others for a fool...poor girl, I wonder what lies he is telling her now..." The girl looked like she had been forced to, because she kept a stony face and kept looking at her feets. "Pressure from her mother maybe, arranged marriages are still so common in this world too" The girl bowed and left. Rebecca continued her walk to him and he turned at the sound of her footsteps. But Elidad was closely behind her, and as soon as she drew closer, he came in front of her and the Prince and unsheathe his sword. Li-Amh sighed. Elidad could be too much at times. "Who asked you to come here?" Elidad asked. Rebecca looked at the tip of the sword like it was nothing but the tip of a pencil, she glared at Elidad. Now, this was unexpected. Every man knew that the women of Quin city were as delicate as flowers, so this was new to them, that she wasn't on her knees, begging for her life, that she instead stood boldly like she wasn't being threatened. "I just want to say something to his majesty, the Prince" Li-Amh looked away, uninterested. He had so much in his mind, he didn't want her to start making cross remarks about the other day when he disrespected her. "Stay away, lady, you can't speak to the Prince without permission" He turned to Li-Amh and they proceeded to leave. Seeing her opportunity going to waste, she shouted desperately. "I have your sash mask!!" The men stopped, Li-Amh turned to her. She smiled. "It has been in my possession all along" Elidad furrowed his brows. "It's her" Li-Amh whispered to him. The next thing that happened shocked her. Elidad walked to her, pointing his sword at her neck. "What are you doing?" She asked. "Be quiet!!" Elidad ordered, he kicked the back of her knee, forcing her to fall on her knees. " You vile criminal" He said. "Guards!!" He shouted, five guards came, swords in hand. She saw the Prince looked at her like nothing was happening, and when they raised her to her feet to take her away, he walked away. They locked her up in a cell, that was when she realised it was a horrible mistake she had made, claiming ownership of a mask. "That i***t Xander, I am going to kill him with my bare hands, I will make sure I tear him from limb to limb" She screamed. The other girls returned without Rebecca, Madame Tirzah heard the news from Noah. She had been arrested, because she had been rude to his majesty. Madame Tirzah shook her head. "If only she wasn't from earth, I will gladly give her half of my properties, she is so stubborn yet she knows absolutely nothing"
