The woman led her to a room, bigger and special than hostel room, it was Madame Tirzah's special chambers where she suddenly meet her exclusive clients. As Becca drew near, she saw Tirzah smiling and a man's back to her, he was wearing a red regalia. "Here comes the one" Madame Tirzah said out loud and the man turned, Becca's face was stony, like she had just seen a ghost. Indeed it was a ghost. "Unfortunately she is mute...." Tirzah said to the client. "Sol, meet the Overlord and ruler of Vaiyin city, lord Amraphel, he heard about you and rushed down here to see for himself, show some respect dear" Becca stood still, Tirzah turned to the client. "Forgive her, she is just shocked that an important person like you is here to see her" The client grinned. "Tirzah, you can leave us now, let me look at her for a while, it might cure me of all my illnesses" "If you say so, my lord, I beg to take my leave" She said and bowed her head, Becca was stunned at this display as Tirzah brush past her deliberately and left the room. "Rebecca Rivera" He said. Becca looked at the low stool that was in front of her. "How are you here?" She asked. "Oh, so you aren't mute?" "You know I was faking it, I asked why you are here and... alive" "It's story time, sit and listen to what I have to tell you" She sat and faced him, he was still smiling. This man, who she could vividly remember she had shot himself, in the forehead, and on his chest and she had saw his casket lowered to the ground, a few years ago, he was smiling, looking the same, and in this world different from the one he had lived and died. "Are we in the afterlife?" "Come on Becca, only kids believe in the afterlife, you are smarter than this" " Then tell me why you are here and alive" "Did you remember the book you took from my house that day?" "Yes, in brought me here in fact, into this world" "Very good, because it brought me here also" "So what you are telling me is.... that I am dead?" "No, you aren't, but soon you will be" "How? I don't understand, why didn't you try to find the book woman and leave" "Book woman?" He laughed. "What stupid book woman, oh god, you are so naive, that book is in the world you left, in the hands of another person, you are not living in that world anymore, right now you are in a coma" "What? how do you know all these?" He said nothing and kept smiling. "So I am stuck here without any hope of changing the character I am portraying?" "Becca, you were in a very bad shape when you sought the book's help, it randomly picked a character for you, I on the other hand had planned my character and was waiting for you and Xander would show up in my living room and you would shoot me" "You planned your own death?" "It was the only way out of the world where I had nothing, here... I have everything, I am glad Becca that you are here too. "Well, I don't think I want to live in a story, I want to go back to my own world... and you are going to help me" "Why would I want to help you?" He smiled. "To me, Vaiyin city is the life I have always wanted, to you, Quin city is hell, why would I want to release you from hell after all the bad things you have done, killing innocent people" "Innocent??" Becca scoffed. "You are just an asshole, and it's your fault I am here, moron, I knew you were such an i***t" She looked away, and added. "I should have torn that book and burned it" "You didn't and it was the best thing you ever did, now my sweet Rebecca, enjoy the life you have here, as Tirzah's pet" He stood up. "I mean.... aren't you an unfortunate one" He shook his head tauntingly. "You lived your life on earth as Xander's pet and now even the life here in Quin city, you are still being exploited and used... only for what you can give" "Just shut your trap, you don't know anything about my life, asshole" "On the contrary, I know your end..." He laughed. "Wait a minute" She turned to him after a quick thought. "Who wrote the damn book?" "I did" He laughed, he kept on laughing as he walked out of the room. Becca was visibly shocked by what she had just heard, it was unbelievable, and crazy. How in god's name did he write such a book, sentencing her to a life of s*****y. Yes, she was a slave, a slave in the hands of a tyrant mistress, was she ever going to make it out alive, she didn't know. A maiden came in, dressed in a long gown, she belonged to the chief maidens group in the hostel. "Madame wants to see you" She said and walked away, not waiting for her. Tirzah was been attended to, by a couple of slave girls when Becca came in, one fixing her hair, another her nails, another replacing the flower vases in the room.... "Leave us" She ordered in her most authoritative voice and the girls scurried away. "Sol" Tirzah called. "You look the same after meeting Amraphel, so tell me how it all went, what questions did he ask you" Becca frowned. ' That punk, if he hadn't shown up, I won't be here listening to this annoying wench' She thought to herself. "Sol?" Tirzah called again. Becca looked around her for paper and ink. "He said you can talk" Tirzah chuckled, Becca scoffed. "He cured you of your dumbness, I didn't know he possessed healing powers" She laughed. "Then I will come clean" Becca said and Tirzah sat up. "He didn't ask me about anything relating to my work here" "I know that already, tell me something I don't know" "My name is Rebecca" "So that's how you call it" Tirzah chuckled. "Those idiots were saying nonsense then, and?" "I am not from around here" "I also know that.... you are different, more beautiful and fair and..... bold" Rebecca chuckled. "Bold??" "Yes, you didn't bow to Amraphel when I told you to, so where are you from?" "Earth" "Earth, never heard about that place" "It's a big place, not common to this people" "So do you know Amraphel? Is he from earth too?" "Yes" "I said it, I know Amraphel, he is like a god here, I know he wouldn't just leave Vaiyin city to come here and see you even though you are the prettiest woman in the world" Becca looked away. "I will ask then, who are you and what is your mission in Quin city?" It was winter again, lady Achsah watched as snow fell that morning through the window while she was in the paint room. Aunt Hoglah was shouting down the hall at the helps again and she knew it would be her turn soon. "One...two ...three" She counted. Aunt Hoglah opened the door immediately she said three. "What are you doing behind that board, young lady" She said. "So early in the morning when you are supposed to be having classes, where is that tutor of yours" "Do not trouble him aunty, see how cold it is, do you want him to catch a cold in this bad weather, I'll just read the history books he recommended" "Oh you stubborn, ill-mannered girl, I wonder where you learned to talk back at your elders" Achsah pouted. "Look at you, pouting at me, how can you still be acting like a baby, don't you know a lady does not pout, it makes her ugly, when I was your age, I had a lot of suitors coming my way" "Can I be excused to go to my room?" "Are you drawling your words too? How can you be so disgusting, that is a terrible manner of speaking" Achsah bowed her head, Hoglah held her jaw up. "A responsible lady from a noble family never bows her head, unless she is asked to, unless it is necessary, unless she is in front of the king, or someone of a higher rank than her" Achsah bit her lower lip as aunt Hoglah left her jaw. "What should I do with you, come down for breakfast, Achsah, I don't want to be harsh on you, stop being stubborn" Rebecca had been staring at the wall all night, Noah had seen her turn in her sleep, apparently, she wasn't even asleep yet, she was just unable to. Now it didn't look normal. "Sol" Noah called as she walked to her bedside, the other girls turned to Noah. What was the fuss? Shema and Kiri shrugged. As Noah removed her blanket, she saw sweat breaking out on Rebecca's neck and face. Alarmed, she touched the girl and shrieked because her body was burning hot. "Call the Madame!!" Noah shouted. Becca's eyes were white and sunken, lips white and pale and her body was as hot as hot coals. Madame Tirzah came running, a surprise on her face. "Tend to her" She said to the healer.
