The surgery was done without any episode of Lucas having seizures, or anything that the doctors have been worrying might happen as an aftershock from what his body had just gone through. It was still a puzzle for many of them on the medical team as to how his injury was gone, like it didn't happen or nothing was really there in the first place. They have checked the record of the report from what happened at the scene, and based on what the witnesses had sworn to say, Lucas having a head injury or even just the clot that the scan showed before they started the procedure should prove that they aren't hallucinating or making things up.
Diane and John are convinced that indeed a miracle happened that saved their son, Lucas' life from actual death.
