Third Person's POV
Amanda opened her eyes, and all she can see were bright lights that is illuminating all over the place. She squinted her eyes, trying to adjust to the lights. The ceilings were painted in white, even the image in her peripheral vision seemed white.
Am I dead? Perhaps in heaven?
She wondered because the place looked so unreal. She moved her head slightly to the left, and she saw on her bedside table a surgical mask, a scalpel, forceps, and other unfamiliar surgical instruments. She guessed that she was lying in a hospital bed.
Am I being operated on? But why?
There were lots of questions in her mind and she tried to voice them out loud, but she couldn't. She realized that her mouth was covered with duct tape and that made her unable to speak.
