“So, did that company contacted you or nah?”
The sky was already on its halt when Flore came back home and as what the girl says, she came with some foods for Elise. The two ladies were having their night at the condo's provided balcony. The two of them were currently eating Flore's food sided with an alcohol.
“It's sunday. They would probably send me their response on Monday or Tuesday. Besides, it might take a while about all the processes... yeah."
“So, have you been thinking about applying at Benedict's business city. I mean his company is literally famous. You can get yourself a big amount if you work there for many months. Just think about that, okay? I'm not forcing you."
“I understand," Elise smiled before grabbing her drink.
“You know, don't mind me but back at college. You dwell a lot. I mean that was before but I am so so proud... just thinking about you not giving up looking for a work, like it has been your fifth try," Flore sighed.
“It's fine. That's how life works. Nowadays, people even kill to make money, or they sold their body. You know were living in America, even in the whole earth, a lot of people suffers a lot. We can't avoid it. It's just, I'm so unlucky Dad died before I could even utter some words."
Flore immediately sense the sudden dark atmosphere, “Oh come on don't be so down you little babe. I know someday, life will be okay. If none of the companies wanted to get you, I can support you for being an author. You can get money from writing, right?”
“Yeah... maybe."
The two of them quickly stopped their little drinking when they sense time was passing fast. Elise decided to cook their dinner while Flore did something from her work because she was an intern teacher from the other side of the town. Flore wasn't living exactly with Elise. They were so close that they decided to treat each other like any other siblings that's why Flore was treating her bestfriend's family.
After spending time cooking at the kitchen, Elise went to the living room to join Flore who is busy writing some of her student's grade on a blue book. What Elise also noticed was some bunch of paper works under the coffee table on the living room.
“Wow, you're still an intern but why do you work your ass like that?" Elise laughed.
“Well, I love kids. You know how much I love spending time with some annoying yet adorable goofy kids," Flore said still keeping her eyes to her work.
“Yeah, we're literally not alike. I hate kids but I love babies."
“I know. That's why you keep faking your smile every time you visit me at school," Flore giggled that made Elise pout like a dumpling.
“I don't hate kids. I just feel like I don't need to like them but also I have a feeling really, I don't need to loathe them."
They keep on making stories and talking about their lives and eventually, their tummy had to reaction so they let them selves feed by Elise cooked beef steak.
The following day, Elise had to stay home still waiting for the email since it's her only current goal in her life and for the other girl, Flore, she has her class with some middle school kids she hope she can cope up. And while doing a laundry, Elise decided to visit her mom at home. She hoped the mother would take a day off but Elise was just hoping. No way her mother would take a rest exactly at monday.
“Ha, can't they just accept me already. I'm a complete highschool and college graduate. What do they want from to be completely accepted?" Elise whined before shoving her cloth back in the clothes basket.
“I hate this world. I wish someone could me take to the neighboring planet."
Being alone was the great thing Elise like. She could simple take out her emotion and that's what she's doing right now, whining and stumping like a boss baby.
She left the machine that does her laundry and went to the living before fishing her phone out from her pocket. There was a notification from i********: and eventually, it was from her cousin, Jean. She hate to admit but she was a little jealous over her cousin because Jean who was two years on job for being a Lawyer now and the good thing was, there's no grudge between them unlike to some of those stories that two of a cousin being a b***h to each other.
Elise clicked it but there was an error so she immediately checked her signal and to her dismay, her wifi signal was off. That made her frown.
“Don't tell me there's no power."
She had to check her wifi that was seated on her living room's window. She frustratedly sighed while running her fingers through her hair as she saw the wire was disconnected from the extension wire.
“Oh come on. Why I am so mad like... argh.. damn. I should probably get myself away from the social media right now until the JL contacted me," Elise mumbled to herself before shoving her phone away from the table.
About a minute passed, Elise went back to the laundry room and decided to finish it all so she could save up some bills from the electricity.
After those, she went to change her clothes into a casual one with a black tee and a baggy jeans. She mean it, she's hot.
Elise immediately took a cab and went to her Mom's address that was also her old home. She was anticipated to see her mom that she didn't notice the cab was taking his driver too fast that she immediately arrive to the place she grown up in. Elise almost teared up remembering everything but quickly moved by the cab's driver the money.
“Oh sorry, here you go," Elise said before handing him a one dollar. The cab immediately took off so Elise faced back the old house. Even she just visited the house five or probably six months ago, she can't help but to miss her mom.
Elise immediately stepped on the wooden gate, it was chest level that made it easily to reach the lock. Oh no, she hopes it's not too dangerous to have that short fence.
“Mom!"
“Mom, I'm home!"
And as a member of the family, Elise had a spare key to their house incase the girl would visit in the middle of the night. She was also the one who suggested it because she always remind her Mom to always lock the door. Well, that key on her has a better purpose, she's that independent side.
Elise immediately set foot into the house but she can't seem to find her mom.
“Oh yeah, she's probably at work," Elisa laughed to herself before leaning to the wooden chair in the kitchen.
