Jayden was on his way home from the Carter's Cafe where he worked as cook. The nineteen-year-old was not a great cook at all. This was his first day at work and he had got the job after his interview was successful. "Such a responsible boy," the Café manager was impressed after interviewing the teenager. "Good afternoon, you can take a seat," Said Mr Jameson, after Jayden came into the manager's office. Inside the office was. Miss Carter was seated in one of the chairs behind her desk. Next to her was Mr Jameson, the assistant manager. Miss Carter was the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Carter, the sole owners of the Cafe. Jane sat there as she examined the candidate. On the other side of Jane Carter's desk, Jayden was trying all he could to feel comfortable after all, this was not his first time being interviewed. He was also wondering why he was nervous. He sat there and took a sip from his bottle of water they had offered him. He kept his eyes on the interviewers, Jane Carter, a woman who was in her mid twenties, and Mr Jameson, an adult man in his late thirties. "Please be comfortable," said Mr Jameson, realizing that Jayden was nervous. He found it hard to interview a nervous candidate as the fear hid one's true self, leading them to end up picking the wrong person for the job. He wanted to make sure Jayden was the right person as some part of him told him that he was the one. "What is your favorite dish?" Jane asked. "Beef bulgogi," he told her. Jayden took another sip of his water and then looked at Jane, who had just asked him the question which kept repeating in his mind. "Why do you think you are the right person for this job?" "Well, the Carter's Cafe is very popular in this neighborhood and I know during the lunch hours it gets flooded with customers. I think I am the writing person for this job because, of my experience, I can handle pressure very well." He answered wishing he had said the right answer and not ruined the interview. Judging from Mr Jameson's expression, Jayden knew that he had impressed him. Jane Carter looked down and noted something in her interview sheet. Jayden wished he knew what she had written down about him. His only hope was that she had written he was the perfect candidate for this job. Speaking of experience, Jayden was taken back to the governor's house. Those memories followed him everywhere he went. He did not mention that in the interview but he did say that he had worked at a hotel-until one man had offered him to work at his house as a home-based chief and offered him a great deal. Lucky for him, they did even bother asking why he left his previous workplace, which was the governor's house. With a past like Jayden's, he knew it was very difficult or impossible to forget, but also he wasn't hard on himself for the things that had happened in the past and was ready to move on and start a new life. He felt a little bit of emotion trying to take over him as memories flashed in his face. Those were not the great memories of the governor's house, but the worst. It was the day he was kicked out of that place like a dog. He had almost destroyed his employer's family. Since they were rich, they put all the blame on him! Calling him a w***e, a shameless home wrecker! "Jayden... Are you alright?" Asked Jane as she saw tears in his eyes. She could see pain by just looking at the red-haired teenager. Those silver eyes were covered in tears that were ready to fall and wash away the little make-up he had used. She felt like this boy had a story to tell and, at the same time, he hid it and did not want anyone to know as he shut everyone out of his heart. "Ma'am... I'm okay.". Jayden lied as he carefully blinked not to disturb the tears in his eyes. This was going to reveal that he was crying. How dare the governor's family treat me like that? One day I shall have the same power they had over me and get back at them, I promise! His inner voice made an oath. "Jayden... Can you tell us about your weaknesses?" Said Mr Jameson. "About my weaknesses. I don't really know about that, but I am open to construction criticism," he said confidently. This time he knew he had nailed the question! "Really..." Jane commented on his answer. She was impressed. Again she felt like the little boy was lost in some crossroads and needed to be saved, but she did not know how to save him, as he hadn't opened up for her. She felt like the only thing she could do was to give him a chance. This meant Jayden was hired. He was very happy to get this job. He had saved enough money to get him through college and then, now he needed some money that he could use as he was waiting for the year to end and go to college. Although the salary promised by the Carter's was nothing compared to the money he used to get while working for the governor. He left the Cafe for his place. With him, he had the new uniform that he had been given by the Carters. He was lucky as it fitted him very well. Some of the cafe staff complained about it being oversized, but for him it was perfect and he was ready to start work. He could not wait till tomorrow so he could start working and clear his mind to destruct it from the incident that had happened at the governor's house prior to losing his job. "Jay!" A familiar voice called from behind. His heart started racing as he recognized this voice from somewhere and he didn't want to turn and see who was calling him. He felt his body shiver as the guy calling him was getting closer to him. Jayden started walking faster than he already was! "Jayden, I just wanna talk to you. I promise I won't hurt you." "Keith go away. I don't want to talk to you!" He shouted as he began to run. Keith was so desperate to talk to him that he started to run after Jayden. Unfortunately, the traffic light was green and Jayden had to wait for it to close so that he could cross the road. For Jayden it felt like it was going to take for ever, so he ran into the road, forgetting to check the incoming traffic. A very expensive edition of a Lamborghini came straight to Jayden. Jay felt like it was better to be run over by a car than to face Keith. Besides that, he was too nervous to get out of the way! "Are you out of your mind?!" The driver asked. He had just stopped the car an inch from Jayden. Jayden looked back and realized that Keith was still after him and he had no way to go. Without saying a word, he went into the Lamborghini and sat in the passenger seat! "Drive!" He instructed the driver. "What the f"ck?!" asked the driver!
