34. Jeremy
Just as I step out of the room, I come face to face with someone I am not expecting to meet at home at this time of the day. My calm mind instantly feels agitated and irritated.
“What are you doing in my daughter's room?” Celine frowns the moment she sees me.
“What do you think?” I give her a leery smile.
“Jeremy, Mia is your sister now. You can't be casually entering her bedroom. It's not right.” She says, sounding self-righteous.
I have so many ways of retorting, but I am choosing to ignore her insinuations.
“What are you doing here?” I return the question.
“Chef Smith said Mia is down. I came to see her.” She moves to knock on the door, but I block her path.
“She is fine. Just ate something bad for her stomach.”
“I still have to see her. Get out of my way.”
