Promptly at nine-thirty, Nathan walked through the two sets of double doors and entered the courtroom a step behind Katherine Huntley, the CPS solicitor who had been given the task of handling the bail hearing for Eileen Hobbs. He took a seat on the bench behind Huntley and settled down to wait, certain he would not be there long. He was sure the judge, and he hadn’t taken the time to find out who was presiding, would want to get the hearing out of the way as quickly as possible so he or she could get on with whatever other cases were on the docket for the day.
