Nathan turned quickly towards the door as it swung open. It wasn’t that he anticipated trouble, nor was it that the door had made so much noise as to alarm him; he was simply in such a high state of alertness that he was likely to react to anything that happened, no matter how minor it might be. “I’m sorry, Inspector, I didn’t mean to startle you, I just wondered if you wanted another cup of tea,” Daisy Turnbull said. “That’s okay, it’s not your fault, I’m just a little on edge. Stakeouts always make me nervous,” Nathan said. “No thanks on the tea, but it’s kind of you to offer.” If he had another cup of tea, he thought he would have to spend the rest of the night emptying his bladder, and he had more important things to get done. “I’ll just get the dishes out of your way then.” Daisy
