CHAPTER 40 Erica's POV (Jane) The car stopped, and the engine made a soft sound in the quiet night. I thanked the driver with a quick nod and got out, the gravel crunching under my feet. The house stood dark and big, outlined against the stars. I opened the door, and the smell of pine and something special about Dante filled the air. I walked into the hallway, my heels making soft clicks on the marble floor.
