18 A Hospital Visit Amalie strode down the sterile, freezing hallway. Hospitals had never bothered her before. They’d beckoned, in fact. A dream, a future that she wanted. Not today. Today she wasn’t here to learn about new technology or medical breakthroughs. Today Amalie was here to visit a suffering friend.
