Williams tried to tell her parents that he was only deceiving them but they told her to shut up. Her father even threatened to deal with her if he ever heard any report that she even greeted Emmanuel's son.

The following morning John woke up early. He woke his wife up. He did not even eating that evening.

"You see how you have disgraced yourself even before your parents? you see how you have become a witch?" he said, his voice echoed pure malice.

She was quiet and kept her head in her hands. He reeled out insults on her, accusing her of being wayward and a witch. When she couldn't take it anymore, she broke down and cried. He did not stop abusing her.

"Look at you, I took pity on you and came to marry you because nobody wanted a witch for a wife. I did not know that you are a witch and now you want to destroy my life. But let me tell you, I know how to deal with witches," he said.

She just cried.

He soon left and went to visit his elder Peter. Peter was his only brother from his mother though he had many half-brothers.

"My wife wants to kill me," he said. "She is threatening to kill me and she boasts that she is a witch."

"What are you doing about it?" Peter asked.

"Don't mind her. She is just ranting. Shes just claiming to be a witch. Does she know what it means to be a witch ?" He laughed.

"But this is a serious matter," his brother said

"Never mind about that, she only said so because I told her of my intention to take a second wife." he Said. Peter looked at him and nodded.

Williams looked at angel when he returned to the palace at midnight. He had actually sent that she should be woken up from sleep. The girl had been annoyed that her sleep had been disturbed. Anabel had waited for the priest.

"I hear you said you are not going on the mission to save your father and indeed this kingdom,"Edwin said.

" No I will not," she said.

"Nobody disobeys the decision of the Oracle. You will incur it's wrath if you refuse to go and I want to assure you that when the Oracle is vexed, it is miserable death," Edwin said.

That inspired fear in Ange. Instantly, she agreed that she would go on the mission.

"Do not be afraid, I have made protection for you . You will go and return safety," Edwin said. "But you shall leave before dawn."

He too the two princesses away, leaving the chiefs with some of the king's family members.

Edwin took the girl's to a River. Francis was there, waiting. He was carrying a small calabash. The priest

took it and brought out black soap from the calabash. He cut the soup into two portions and gave the girls a portion each.

"Rub the soap on your face, Arms and legs. This is not an ordinary soup. I have fortified it. Remember, the spirit forest is not an evil forest. It is the home of spirits. You are going there to look for a certain woman. when you see her, You shall know her. She is very angry and will want to harm you. She knows why you have come there and she will be very mean but you have to soften her and win her heart. She has the White leaves. only she can give you the White leaves," Edwin said.

"Why will she want to harm us? angel asked.

"Because she is Williams, she is angry with anything that is from aghovie especially in the mortal form," he said. "Once you get into the forest, You will find yourself walking On a very long bridge; don't talk while you are on the bridge.it will take you a full day to cross the bridge. Then, you shall encounter many spirits in the forms of people. They are the bad spirit, do not talk to them or accept anything from them. They will test both your strengths and weaknesses. if you talk to them or accept anything from them. You shall fall off the bridge and that will be Your end. So be disciplined and ignore every spirit that you meet. even if they stand in your way, walk through them and do not be afraid because your fear is their weapon against you ," Edwin said.

"How do you mean that we will know Williams when we see her and how do we win her to give us the White leaves?" Anabel asked.

" The moment you meet her, she will attack you and try to harm you, someone you help along the way will intervene and will call her by name. How You win her depends on the beauty of your inside. Everyone likes others to be kind and nice to them. Now, once you've crossed the bridge, you can talk with the spirits but you must never accept anything from them. Only Williams can give you food to eat that won't harm you," he said.

He and Francis took the princesses and crossed the river. They walked over a kilometre until they came to a bigger river. They stopped. Edwin turned to the girl's.

"This is where we shall stop to bid you farewell and safe return.You shall cross the river to the other side and go into the forest and you will find yourself in the spirit world," Edwin said. " And remember, the greatest protection you have is your character. Best of luck." The priest and Francis turned and left.

The girl's looked at each other and then Crossed the river through a foot bridge made of tree trunks. They entered the forest and came upon a bridge. They began to walk on the bridge. Everywhere was dark and silent. They walked in silence. However, angel was not happy that she had to be on this mission. Why could the priest and his boy not go on the mission instead since they were powerful and knew all that it took to go on the journey? But Anabel was eager, for them, to find Williams and win her heart so that she would give them the white leaves so they could save their father and Aghovie from imminent death.

The walk on the bridge was long and exhaustive but they trudged on. they didn't see anyone. Dawn broke and soon they were hungry. angel was tempted to scream out her frustration but she recalled the priest's warning.
