Charles was very excited that I had agreed to go with him as if I was left with any other choice. But none of his attempts to prove to me that he was a gentleman worked.
I could see right through his smiles, and I knew that he was definitely no good for any woman not to talk of me.
His entire existence was reeking of arrogance and pride, and he couldn’t even help himself. I thought about several ways to escape from him, but each time I remembered what was at stake, I grunted in annoyance.
