ARIEL’S POV
While I kept Charles in suspense, I thought about everything I was going to say to him and how I was going to present them. I had only one chance, and I was not going to mess it up.
“It seems you and Luke are friends.” I started on a good foundation, hoping that he was going to follow up without being secretive.
“How do you know that? Did he tell you anything?” Charles asked, and I smiled at once.
I could tell that was really interested in what I was saying to him, and that was all I needed to continue with my questions.
“Alpha Luke and I didn’t discuss any other things aside from business. He seemed very focused and determined to carry out this project.”
“That's good. I am happy to hear that.” Charles reacted to the credit I gave to Luke which he didn’t deserve.
