ARIEL’S POV
Charles was surprised that I made such a demand. He stared at me for a while to know if I was going to tell him that I was joking, but I kept my serious face.
“I thought this was a joke.” He said calmly, expecting me to say what he wanted to hear. He saw that I wasn’t ready to change his mind and that made him sigh.
Slowly, he adjusted himself and cleared his throat before he continued with a calm tone.
“This will not be so easy for me to do, Diana. You are asking me to stop Luke from coming to your company.”
“Yes, Charles. That’s what I want.” I insisted, nodding to affirm my words.
