I didn’t know how Sylvia was able to leave the house, but I was glad that Diana didn’t see her. I couldn’t imagine what would have happened if she had seen her.
Everything that had been going on since we arrived at the City had been so unexpected that I thought that I might have made a very terrible decision by deciding to come to the City.
On the other hand, there was something bigger than what was going on, and I couldn’t just let that go away.
No one knew about it, not even Sylvia or Diana, and it was going to remain that way until whenever I made up my mind to tell them. It was bigger than any of them, and it was my source of liberty.
