DIANA’S POV The last thing I remembered was that Fred was speeding so fast that I had to beg him to reduce the speed of the car but he insisted, saying that there was no other car on the road. It was very late, and even though I wanted to get home so that I could see my son, I was worried that Fred may have taken more than was enough to quench his thirst. He was reeking of alcohol, and I could see that he was forcing himself to keep his eyes open. I wished that I had observed him closely before agreeing to get into his car.
