I would have never thought that Davis was going to be able to speak to me in that manner. He left me speechless while he walked away.
I thought about everything he said, and then I realized that Diana could have put him up to it. She was definitely behind it, and I wondered why she was so eager to get me out of her way.
First, she made sure that Charles asked me to stay away from her company, and then she had somehow convinced Davis to tell me that I had to leave the City just when I was getting really close to achieving everything I had in mind.
“I just hope that he didn’t falling for that b***h!” I grunted in annoyance, realizing that Davis had a soft spot for Diana. She must have had him wrapped up around her fingers, and that was bad for business.
