ARIEL’S POV
Briana was silent for a while, but I could tell that she was trying to figure out what to say to me. The fact that she was desperate to make peace with her brother was enough to keep me standing no matter how long it was going to take.
“Charles thinks that I stole that contract from him, but I was only following our father’s instruction. I think the only was I can get him to forgive me is by making amends.”
I thought about Briana’s suggestion, but I wasn’t quite satisfied with it. “What if it doesn’t work out? What if he has taken his mind off the contract already? You told me that this happened a year ago.”
“That’s where you come in, Diana. I need you to talk to me since he is fond of you. I believe he is going to listen to you more than any other person I can think of.
