Bumping Into Him

A notorious crimimal known as Benjamin has been searched for years but each attempt made turns out to be of no good
But......
"Hello sir, hello sir" Detective Chris shouts to his boss.
"Chris, what is it" he says without looking at him as he is engrossed in his work
"Benjamin the notorious crimimal has been found" Detective Chris says with so much excitement.
"Call Marley, we're sending her to New York now!!!" the boss said.
"We can't miss our chance, he must be caught now!" He added.

"Sir?" Marley called out.
"Oh yeah Mar.... ley, well... Benjamin has been found. I'm sending you to him, don't accuse him immediately okay? Get attached, make sure he's close enough to tell you things and then you trap him."
"Sir that might take time" Marley said
"A month is enough to get yourselves close Marley!" he shouted.
"I'll try my very best sir, I'll pack now too"
"Good, you're leaving in two hours"
Marley leaves quickly to get ready for her assignment. Usually Marley has done a lot of works but this one made her feel really uneasy.
*****Back at her quarters*****
As she tries to pack a few supplies for as long as she'll be there, a knock sounds from the door and her colleague Barry walks in..
"Hey..... Marley" he says giving an uneasy face,puzzled more actually.
"Hey, I'm sure you heard about the assignment. The whole criminal whatsoever" she said sadly.
"Yeah, that's why I'm here" he says as he gets closer leaving only an inch to their faces.
"Marley, I don't want you to go" Barry said to her as he reached for her hands
"I know but it's not like I have any stupid choice of my own Barry, I feel very unhappy too" Marley said
Barry tried to get closer to Marley but she takes few steps backward atleast to terminate the closeness that was between them.
"Barry, I've talked about this. I don't want anything between us, not now and not ever" Marley said angrily.
"Fine, go okay? That's what you're good at anyways.. Walking out of people's lives" Barry said as he stormed out.
"People really don't know their limits here" Marley muttered.

Marley quickly rushed out after packing and headed to the office, informed her Boss that she's ready to leave, told a few friends about everything and quickly left.
She boarded her flight immediately and in less than 8 hours she was at New York. It's not her first time being at New York, she visits here for holidays, work and other reasons but this time was different and she really didn't buy the idea of creating a bond with a notorious criminal. She's done this lots of times and it felt completely normal to her but this time felt different to her especially with the situation going on between her and her colleague Barry. She arrived at her apartment and decided to unpack.
"I guess I'm really not in the mood for New York" she said to herself.
Marley got a call from her boss..
"Marley, leave the house now. Benjamin is going to pass there right now. Start your work from there" he shouted
She quickly hang up the call and..
BOOM!
She bumped into him really hard, as she raised her head up she saw a really hot guy. The guys she's bonded with are cute though but this one was different..he was beautiful?
"Helloooooo, you fell my keys lady" The criminal said.
"This guy is so darn cute. What sort of trap is this?" Marley thought.
"Helloooooo madam, are you here?" he called out again.
"Oh oh sorry, my bad. I guess my brain went out" Marley said as she quickly picked up his keys and gave it to him.
Their fingers brushed which gave a spark on both sides.
"Thank you and do well to watch out next time" he said as he walked away
"What a guy?! I've always known hot guys had no manners" she groaned.

At evening, Marley decided to take a stroll out because she couldn't sleep and that's the only thing she could somewhat do. While she was strolling, she mistakenly bumped into a guy AGAIN
"I'm really tired of hitting people today" she said only to find out that it's the previous guy she hit today.
"You really are a bumper, aren't you?" he said and smiled.
"I'm not a bumper, today is really not my day" she grumpily said.
"I'm Benjamin Smith by the way" he said
"Oh hi Bejamjn, I'm... Marley" she said
"Nice to meet you" Ben said as he stretched his hands forward for a handshake.
Dawn returned the greetings by the handshake and blushed widely.
"So what are you doing now, it's late" Ben said.
"I couldn't sleep so I decided to stroll a bit" she replied.
"But I should be heading home now" she said again.
"Yeah you should, it's not safe right now to be out here.I mean, if you can't defend yourself you could get really hurt by burglars" Ben informed her.
"I can defend myself please. I visit here sometimes and I haven't had an experience of attack" she said.
"Hmmm, when last did you visit?" Ben asked with a puzzled face.
"Ummmm, last year July" she said looking very unsure.
Benjamin laughed at Marley loudly.
"Heyyyy, what's funny?" she asked
"Last year July? And this is September, things change Miss Dawn so please go home before you get attacked" Williams said while smiling "
"So what?If I get attacked you can't save me? What are you, a baby?"
"I'm not responsible for a stranger's safety, that's the point"
"Yeah right" Dawn shrugged
"You're funny and I'd love to know more about a pretty lady like you but not this night, I don't want you to get hurt. Can I have your number?" He asked.
"Hmm, you're really not tough Mr. Benjamin" she said smiling.
"I am tough" he said

"Say what?!" he said

"Yeah thanks" he said
"Bye Mr Barry"
"Just call me Barry"
"Bye, Mr Barry" I said and left.
We parted ways and I left to my house, showered and went to my room to rest onky to receive a message from Williams.
"What a day" Marley muttered and dozed off.
