Chapter Thirteen Elena

I hurried into the house and quietly shut the door behind me. I watched from the window as Olivia dove off and quickly ran up the stairs and to my room. I sighed when I saw Becca's sleeping body on my bed. I was really going to have to break her heart. We both knew eventually this would happen. But with everything going on in her life right now, this was the last thing I needed to burden her with.

I grabbed some underwear and a bra and headed to the bathroom to shower. I got into the water and let it wash away the scent of Olivia and Lucas. It was time to process things because I didn't know how long I could keep myself away from my mates. 

I heard the bathroom door open and Becca shuffled into the room, "Elena why are you up so early?"

"I, uh, I couldn't sleep. I had a nightmare." I said washing the soap off my body I heard Becca open the toilet. 

"Yuck. Elena aunt flow came to town!" She whined.

"Damn. Sorry, Becca. Obviously, I wasn't expecting you to be up!" I said.

I shook my head and thought to myself, "Well, at least I have a week to process things!" 

Becca flushed, washed her hands, and then went to leave, "Hey, don't go back to sleep, okay?" I said.

"Why?" Becca groaned.

"Because I need to talk to you!" I said as I turned off the water.

"Fine." She huffed before leaving me alone.

I quickly got out of the shower and dried myself. I took care of business and got dressed. I stepped out of the bathroom and found Becca snuggled on the bed. I went to my dresser and found a tank top and shorts.

Once I was dressed I climbed back into bed and pulled Becca into a hug, "So what's up?" She muttered.

"I went for a run after the nightmare woke me up and I, uh, kind of ran snoot first into my mate. So I found my mate, or should I say, mates." I said watching her face, she looked at me confused.

“Wait, did you just mate as in the plural? Like more than one? I’m still half asleep!” She said as her eyes shot open.

“Yeah, you heard right. Plural." I said.

"Ohh." She said as her eyes shifted to the bed. I could tell she was sad.

"I'm so sorry Becca. With everything going on I know this is the last thing you want to hear…but I could never keep this from you. " I said as a tear slid down my face.

She sat up and grabbed my face in her hands, "Do not apologize for finding the one, or in this case the two people you were meant to be with. We knew this would come someday, the timing sucks, but I am so happy for you!"

"Really?" I said

"Absolutely. What kind of friend would I be if I wasn't happy for you? But wait, if you found your mates why are you here with me? You should be getting your freak on. And oh my gosh, who are they???" she said now fully awake.

I laughed. “Cool it with the questions man. You'll never guess who it is. You are going to freak out!"

"Tell me!! The suspense is killing me!!" She said loudly.

"Fine. It’s Alpha Lucas and his wife Olivia.” I said quickly.

"HOLY s**t!" She yelled.

"Shhhh. It's seven in the morning. My mom is sleeping!" I said smacking her arm.

She covered her mouth and squealed again. “Holy s**t!"

"Yeah. And I'm not getting my freak on because this whole thing is a lot to take in!" I said answering her other question.

"I bet it would be a lot to take in!!" She said winking at me. "Now tell me everything."

I rolled my eyes at her and told her, in as much detail as I could from my run until I walked into the house.

A while later when we were finished talking about everything Becca decided to head home and deal with her drama. I walked her to the door and she kissed me on the cheek, "Text me later when you get a new phone!"

"Will do! Bye Becca!" I said as she walked out the door and to her car. I waved as she drove off and then I shut the door.

I went to the kitchen and found my mom eating some cereal and scrolling on her phone. "Hey, mom!"

"Good morning. What was all that yelling about earlier?" She said eyeing me.

"Well, I found my mate early this morning when I went out for a run... and I don't just have one mate. I have two apparently." I said.

My mom choked on her drink and started coughing. "What?! Who?!" She managed.

"See that's the crazy thing. It's the Alpha and his wife..." I said before turning my back to her and grabbing a cup of coffee.

"WHAT?!" She half yelled.

“Yeah. I’m kinda in shock.” I muttered.

“So am I. They are quite a bit older than you!” She said putting down her phone.

“I know, but the Goddess of Night knows what she’s doing. So I can’t turn this down. I might not ever get a mate again.” I said leaning against the counter.

“This is true. You still want to go to the phone store?” She asked standing up and taking her bowl to the sink.

“Please? We should also check out the used dealership because I’ll need a new car to get to work and oh no!!! I forgot to call Lillian.” I said freaking out slightly.

“Here. Use my phone and call her. Unless you don’t need a job anymore because you’ll be moving into the pack house, leaving me all alone, never needing another cent again!” She said laughing. “I’m only slightly kidding. But I knew the day would come when you left the nest!” She came over to me and hugged me and handed me her phone before disappearing out of the room.

I found Lillian’s contact in my mom's phone and called her. She answered on the first ring.

“What is it?” She said in a snarky voice.

“Well good evening to you too Lillian,” I said happily.

 She made a grumbling sound, “sorry, didn’t realize it was you.”

“Anyway, I’m all healed up and I can be in first thing tomorrow morning!” I suggested. 

“Perfect timing. I’m backed up since fall is one of the busiest seasons.” She said

“Alright. See you tomorrow!" I said.

"See ya." she sighed and hung up the phone.

"Lilian, charming as ever!" I muttered out loud and headed upstairs to get ready to leave.
