Elaine Jeff grew up knowing she would always come second.Overshadowed by her older sister and neglected by her parents, Elaine learned early not to expect love, attention, or fairness from her family. But when her father steals from the powerful Salvi family—a mafia empire feared throughout the city—Elaine suddenly becomes useful for the first time in her life.To save themselves, her parents force her into a five-year contract marriage with Antonio Salvi, the heir to the Salvi empire. The agreement is simple: remain married, produce an heir, and play the role of the perfect wife until Antonio can officially inherit leadership of the family. But life inside the Salvi household is far from simple.Antonio already has someone he loves and wants nothing to do with the arranged marriage. Elaine, unwilling to become another disposable pawn, keeps her distance while trying to survive the dangerous world she has been thrown into. Yet as rival mafia families close in, internal betrayals grow, and power struggles threaten the Salvis from within, the distance between them slowly begins to disappear.Behind Antonio’s cold exterior, Elaine discovers a man burdened by responsibility and expectations. And behind Elaine’s quiet personality lies intelligence, resilience, and a strength that begins to earn the respect of the very family that once saw her as nothing more than a sacrifice. But everything changes when Antonio’s secret lover is revealed to be Tracy—Elaine’s older sister. With betrayal coming from every direction and enemies hiding behind familiar faces, Elaine must decide whether to protect her fragile heart… or fight for a place in a family that was never supposed to become her home.

The Price Of Betrayal
“Stop—please—” Elaine shouted at the top of her voice, but the sound was drowned out by her moaning breath. Between her thighs was a head, one she held onto tightly with a single hand. She moved up and down, squirming like a worm. She couldn’t find her balance. She wanted this to stop. Beads of tears flowed down her cheeks; she had lost control. This shouldn’t be happening, yet she still clung to the head between her thighs. All her words drowned in her moans. Wet kisses landed on her inner thighs, taking her away from reality. How long had she longed for this pleasure? she questioned herself silently. ‘I deserve this. Yes, I do,’ she thought quietly as she tried her hardest to suppress the other part of her that disagreed. But the harder she tried, the louder it came back. “This is not right.” “We shouldn’t be doing this,” she said, but no matter how loud the voice became, it was swallowed by the moans she let out. The kisses stopped. Finally, she could catch her breath. And there he stood—the cause of her conflict—Julio. Julio was her boyfriend who worked in their mansion. She had begged for him to be hired as her personal driver and bodyguard. It took a lot of convincing, but she had finally gotten what she wanted. It had been three months since he moved into the estate. And here she was, crying on top of his bed, half-naked, with his p***s straining against his trousers, ready to be let out at any moment. He moved closer, placing his hands on her shoulders and leaning in. “No!” She could finally let her voice out. Julio looked at Elaine, confused. He had been ignoring the tears and silent sobs she’d been letting out. This threw him off, and it was written all over his face. “I’m sorry, but we need to stop, please.” Her voice cracked, but she was glad she’d stopped herself before he could do more. She wanted this—her body, at least. Her hands moved up and down his p***s, stroking it to keep it hard. This time, the part of her begging him to come into her was suppressed. He watched her silently, waiting for an explanation, but all she did was sit there, mute. Her fingers spoke more than her mouth. She traced the veins protruding through his trousers as she admired his half-naked body. Her legs twitched slightly; she could feel fluids sliding down her thighs. She wanted this. She needed this right now. She looked up at Julio. He looked even more confused with her hands rubbing against him. She quickly let go, stood up from the bed, and grabbed her clothes from the floor. ‘I’m glad it was a one-piece dress,’ she thought to herself. Her hair was a mess, but it didn’t matter. All she wanted was to leave before she was pulled back in by the tempting figure standing beside her, confused and watching her dress up. As she walked out of the room, she heard Julio’s soft whisper against her nape. “I’m here, whenever.” Then a kiss fell there. She wanted to turn back, run into his arms, and let him devour her, but she shook the thought off and walked away. As she walked up the stairs, she thought about why she had been in Julio’s room. She could have stayed there and let her desire take over, filling her body with pleasure she was sure she would never forget. She sank into her bed, thinking back to how she got there and everything that had happened. She could still feel his touch on her skin, tracing every part of her body. Her hands followed the memory of his movements, from her lips to her n*****s and then down to her v****a. Her fingers became wet instantly. She reached into her drawer and pulled out her vibrator. “Julio,” she let out, clutching her pillow tightly. “It’s almost there, Julio… don’t stop… harder…” The sound of the vibrator was soft, yet the whole world seemed to go silent around her. Her legs shook. She lost her balance. “Ahhh, Julio—I’m cumming, I’m cumming—” “Nwaah! Nwaah!” the baby monitor rang out. She dropped the vibrator onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. Covering her face with her hands, she tried to hide her annoyance. Elaine sat in silence for a minute, but the cries coming from the monitor became unbearable. She stood up and walked out to where her baby was. As she walked over, she saw the nanny already picking up the baby from his cradle. “Where were you while he was crying?” She couldn’t hide the frustration in her tone. “I’m sorry, ma’am. I was in the kitchen.” “I hired you as a nanny, not a cook. Or do I have to remind you?” “But—you were the one who asked me to cover for the cook.” “I did?” she asked. Before meeting with Julio, she had asked the nanny to prepare something for her. “That doesn’t give you an excuse to neglect your main job. You should learn to multitask.” “I’m sorry, ma’am,” the nanny replied softly. “Hand him over.” She stretched out her arms to receive her baby. She swayed him gently, trying to stop his crying and maybe lull him back to sleep. She was frustrated, but not relieved. She had stopped halfway through twice. ‘If I had known the nanny would come pick him up, I would have stayed back. But the baby monitor made it impossible to stay still,’ she thought. “I’m done. Where would you like to have your dinner?” the nanny asked, interrupting her thoughts. “You can take it to my room. I’ll eat there.” “Okay. Should I come take over after serving it?” “It’s okay. I’ll keep him with me. You can rest. I’ll call you if I need you.” Having dinner alone in the mansion felt like eating in the middle of a desert. The walls were far apart, yet they somehow felt too close. It was too quiet. Too lonely. There was no point eating in the dining room when she would be the only one there anyway, she thought to herself. Elaine walked out with her baby in her arms, inspecting everything with her eyes. She had given the other maids the day off earlier, but she made sure they cleaned the house before leaving. The silence only felt louder because of it. “How did I get here?” The question kept bothering her. But as if trying to run away from the truth, she searched for distractions to keep her mind occupied. As Elaine walked back into her room, she saw the nanny staring at her bed. ‘What could she be looking at?’ she wondered. Then it struck her. She hadn’t put her vibrator away when the baby started crying. Embarrassment washed over her, leaving her speechless. The nanny finally noticed her presence as she walked past. She picked up the vibrator from the bed and tossed it into the open drawer. Elaine turned to see the nanny smiling. “What’s funny?” she asked, placing the baby on the bed. “Nothing. You just seem a little flushed, that’s all.” Her smile widened. “I’m not. Aren’t you just imagining things?” “Alright, alright. Just so you know, it’s totally fine to have toys. You’re a grown woman, after all.” “I know I’m a grown woman, and I don’t need you telling me what I can or cannot have. Do the job you were hired for and leave,” Elaine snapped angrily. There was no reason to get angry or shout, but she was too embarrassed to keep her composure. Nancy was a close friend of Elaine’s family and also a good friend of hers. There was no need to be harsh over a little teasing, but Elaine just wanted her to stop because she wasn’t in the mood. “I’m sorry, ma’am. I’ll take my leave now.” She turned around and headed for the door. “Nancy,” Elaine called out. “I’m sorry about what I said. I didn’t mean it.” She apologized with her eyes fixed on the floor. It was the most she could manage at that moment. “It’s okay, ma’am. I totally understand.” “How many times do I have to tell you not to call me ma’am?” “I’m sorry… Elaine.” “That’s much better. I don’t want to correct you again, please.” Elaine finally smiled. “Sure,” Nancy replied as she walked out of the room. The room went silent again. The baby had fallen back asleep on the bed. “Finally,” Elaine muttered. As she sat in the chair with her food placed at the center of the table before her, a feeling of loneliness washed over her. “How did I get here?” she asked herself again. No answer came. The silence only reminded her of how lonely she was. She stood up and walked out of the room. ‘It would be better to have Nancy eat with me,’ she thought. She walked toward the staircase overlooking the downstairs hall. “Nancy!” she called out. It took a while before she got a response. “Yes? You called?” Nancy came rushing out of her room. “Do you mind eating with me?” Elaine asked. “I’m not hungry. I ate a while ago, so I’m still okay.” Elaine felt disappointed. She was tired of eating alone, and tonight felt worse than usual. “But I can come stay with you. I have nothing to do anyway since Max is asleep.” “That’s great. Come on up,” Elaine said, her smile returning. She turned around to head back to her room when the main door opened. A tall figure walked in. Her expression changed immediately as she recognized the person. It was the answer to the question she had been asking herself and constantly avoiding—her husband, and the only reason she was alone in this mansion.
