"But I didn't kill them!" Indigo shouted The policemen were cuffing her despite all her efforts, and with all the neighbours watching, she felt a mix of fear and embarrassment, which to her was worse than being arrested. Soon enough, she found herself seated in a police car cuffed and surrounded by the intimidating officers one beside her and two occupying the front seats. To say she was scared would be an understatement. She had never in her fifteen years of life been in trouble with the law, yet she found herself being charged with arson and murder of her best friend's father. Indigo was devastated and confused at not only the fact that she was being arrested but also her best friend Ashley had gone missing after the accident, and there was no way to prove she was innocent. "please" Ashley whines "It'll be super quick "Fine!" she says reluctantly "Just a few stops and we're back here" Ashley squeals excitedly as they prepare to leave **** Indigo and Ashley have been best friends since childhood, they're about to turn sixteen and in middle school, Though they were both born in the lower class Ashley's mum got remarried two years before she passed leaving her daughter with a rich stepdad who spoils her rotten. Despite this, The two were inseparable and although many talked behind their backs they didn't care, they were sisters from different misters. The very next day was Ashley's birthday party so the two went to a very popular boutique in town, Because indigo wasn't as rich as Ashley she didn't spend much the latter on the other hand splurged as if the world was at its end but who could blame her? she was turning sixteen the very next day. Contrary to the plan, after spending the two went to Ashley's house where Indigo received a frantic call from her mother asking her where the hell she was. Long story short she was in big trouble but she was here anyway so she might as well enjoy the night right?- wrong! After the call, she went to sit with Ashley on the couch "my mum's pissed cus I left the house, I'm having a bad feeling do you think I should just leave?" "No, you can't, it's just six, and the night is still young... I'll beg on your behalf okay?" Indigo sighs "Okay" "Great! let's watch a movie "Ashley said as she instructed a maid to prepare them snacks while the movie played. Ashley seemed to be enjoying herself, indigo on the other hand wasn't even paying attention. To be honest she didn't like coming over to Ashley's, don't misunderstand, she cares about her a lot but she wasn't a fan of the rich people society Ashley and her dad were based on. She didn't fit in and saw them all as selfish and pretentious people who didn't give a damn if money wasn't involved. She always said "This world is full of selfish and cruel people, I promise I will never turn into that…" it was a promise to herself and she planned on keeping it. All in all, it didn't help that Ashley's dad was extremely suspicious, she always disliked him, to her he was the devil's spawn but what could she do he was her best friend's father. An hour into the movie indigo was having an eerie feeling, didn't help that there was a strange smell coming from the kitchen "Fuel?!"Indigo suddenly yelled "What's wrong? What fuel?"Ashley asks worried "I smell fuel I-I think there's a" "Gas leak!" a kitchen staff yells "Gas?"Indigo repeats confused. By now everyone is running about trying to put out the fire that's spreading rapidly. she grabs Ashley's hand and shouts "We need to get out of here!" "What? No! we can't just leave, my dad's still in there!" she starts to panic, worry very evident on her face "Don't worry the maids will get everyone out safe" Indigo reassures "Now let's go!" she drags Ashley out of there barely avoiding the fire. As they stood a distance from the burning and crumbling house, Ashley started to cry, It's been a while since they got out yet none had followed and although the fire department had been called they had not arrived. She fell to the floor crying desperately as she watched her house being engulfed in flames. Indigo pats her back in reassurance but it doesn't seem to work; suddenly she gets up and says: "I have to go save them!" "Are you crazy?! the house is on the verge of being burnt down you can't go in they might not even be alive!" she shouts desperately hoping she didn't mean all she was saying. "I have to at least check" she sobs "M-My dad is in there I can't bare to lose someone I care about again!" "Hey! Look at me, you have to calm down I already called the fire department they're on their way-" "But what if they don't get here in time?" "They will!" she pauses "I promise everything will be alright; you're my best friend, Ashley, you mean a lot to me I can't just let you go in there!" "You mean a lot to me too, but I have to go" She moves away from Indigo tears falling "I promise I'll come back …"
