Coming Out of the Shell

I was sitting on a very soft and very comfy love seat, reading a muggle book called Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. One of my favourite books. My "Mother" Didn't really let me do anything but read, and most of the time it was cook books. Though I can't be too mad, I do make a mean Farmers Pie now. It had helped me learn to cook a lot of things, which was good because I liked to do things with my hands, and there's not many things my “Mother” was willing to let me do. Anyway. I was deep in my book, under a fluffy blanket, when the couch sunk next to me and an arm went around my shoulders. I, involuntarily I might add, squeaked and jumped three inches off the love seat. I didn't need to look beside me to know who it was. It was the same person as it was last time, and the time before that. "Jumpy aren't we?" Elliott asked as he tightened his grip around my shoulders. I held back my sarcastic answer and shrugged. My eyes returned back to my book. "You know," He drawled "You're going to have to talk to me some time. I mean, we're meant to be! You'll just have to speak, sooner or later" I couldn't help myself, my book falling closed. His attempt at flirting and the fact that his arm was around my shoulder, I burst out into a fit of giggles. What?! It's funny to think that girls actually fall for that. I pitied the girls for a moment, but then again, if they were dumb enough to fall for it, it's their own fault. "Glad to know I'm so funny. But you won't be laughing later" He told me suggestively. I raised an unimpressed eye brow at him and opened my book again. That, of course, was before it was torn out of my hands and thrown across the room. I looked up at him shocked and growled at him. Yes, growled. "Oh! Feisty are we? You'll need that spunk for later" Alright, so maybe I broke. "Alright Black. If you don't let go of my shoulder right now, you're loosing a testicle." I threatened Elliott visibly flinched and moved away, his arm leaving my shoulder. Before his eyes widened and he began to jump around like a three year old. I looked at him with confusion and worry. Was he okay? "You talked! I got you to talk!" He said "Oh yeah, like a threat should be something to celebrate over" I said before I thought. My eyes widened and I looked down at the fluffy blanket, picking at the loose threads. Elliott started laughing. "Who knew that shy ickle Lawrence had a sarcastic side" "Are you kidding? Shiy's the most sarcastic person I know" Oh great! You know when you expect you brother to come and help you when a boy's bothering you, but he only joins in and doesn't help? Yeah. "Remmy" I whined. "Whaty?" He mocked. "I'm hungry" I stated. "So?" Jasper interjected. "So, My legs are tired and Euphemia and Fleamont have gone out. So, if you want to eat, Remus has to carry me" I stated Remus pouted, before turning around. I smiled and jumped onto his back. It wasn't like I weighed much anyway. The next day, it was extremely hot. So, I was outside in my bathing suit, getting a tan while, you guessed it, reading. Personally, I was enjoying myself immensely, until I heard a stampede of feet heading my way and then three splashes. Now I was both soaked (I managed to save my book, thanks Merlin) I turned around to the boys. "Remus John Lawrence!" I shouted and Remus winced. "Yeah?" He replied hesitantly "You're dead" I told him. I stepped back, before getting a run into the pool. I landed behind Remus. As I splashed in, I heard a not-so manly squeal. There's Elliott. "MY HAIR! YOU RUINED MY HAIR!" He shouted "Oh Honey. It was ruined when you came out" I sassed Jasper and Remus started laughing, while Elliott looked at me. "That hurt Love, that really hurt" He put a hand over his heart "Good thing my heart's two sizes too small, or I would give a crap" I was shocked at myself for being this brave, but I kind of liked talking to them, being able to talk without fearing what people are going to think or say. It was comforting. And I happened to like Remus' friends, they were nice enough, funny too. Remus laughed louder while Jasper and Elliott looked at me curiously. "I didn't know you're heart could be "Two sizes too small"" Jasper said. "It's a quote from a movie" I explained. "What movie?" Elliott asked "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" "WHY WOULD SOMEONE EVER STEAL CHRISTMAS!?" Jasper cried. "It's just a muggle movie" I explained briefly. "Muggles are weird" "No s**t Sherlock" I rolled my eyes. Their eyes widened and they jumped on me, hugging me and squealing like the teenage girls they were. "She swore! She Swore!" Elliott yelled. "Our little Baby's all grown up!" Jasper wiped an imaginary ear away. "And which one of you is my mother?" I asked. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.
