You're Who's Sister?!

Halloween

I was extremely excited! But also, I don't think I've ever experienced anxiety quite like this.

It was Halloween today and I was finally going to ask Shiyloh out on a date.

But with that thought, I also felt nervous.

"Come on Mate!" Elliott encouraged "You can do it!"

"Do what?" Remus asked as he came out of the bathroom.

"Jazz-Baby is going to ask out his little crush today" Elliott pinched my cheeks, speaking in a baby voice.

"Good on you Jazz, I'm sure who ever it is, is a lucky girl"

He doesn't even know, he has absolutely no clue. Everyone else had figured it out and yet Remus was clueless.

There was a knock and Lily came in.

We had asked her to do our make-up for our costumes instead of Shiyloh. We wanted to keep our costumes as much of a surprise as we could.

Professor Daedalos said that we were allowed to dress up in costumes for a party that would be held in the Great hall at the end of the day.

"Alright guys. Sit down and one by one I'll do your make-up. What are you going as anyway?"

"I'm going as a Zombie. Remus is going as a Werewolf" Lily snickered slightly " Rhys isn't coming and Jasper is going a the devil"

"Hm, Do you guys want to look gruesome?" Lily asked evilly.

"Hart, you read my mind" Elliott smirked.

I was super excited about Halloween today! I was practically jittering with excitement, from the moment I woke up, to this moment now.

Halloween was and still is my favourite holiday when I was younger.

Remus and I used to go out with our friends to trick or treat, I used to make my own costumes cause my "Mother" Wouldn't get one for me, but I made really great costumes if I do say so myself. Now that I had more experience with making clothes and costumes type things, the costumes were much better.

Lily had just gone to help the guys with their make up for their costumes. They wanted to surprise me, which was good because I didn't want to surprise them,

I wanted to knock them off their feet.

So I jumped into the shower and washed my hair with my shampoo and conditioner, then washed myself with a lemon body scrub.

I relaxed in under the hot water and let the tenseness in my muscles rinse away.

I got out and wrapped a fluffy towel around myself.

I quickly dried off and went out into the dorm to change into my steampunk, costume.

Yeah I looked great. I was even more excited, now that I was in my costume.

As I busied myself with my make-up, Lily came back in.

"Oh . . . My . . . God! Shiy you look gorgeous!"

I giggled "Thanks Lils"

Lily grabbed her costume and jumped into the shower. I put the my lipstick on and looked at myself in the mirror.

"Kings eat your heart out" I smirked.

Lily came out of the bathroom, dressed in her Sea Goddess costume.

"WOW! Lils you look amazing!" I said

"I can't get my hair right!" She complained stomping her tiny foot on the ground.

I laughed "C'mere" I said gesturing to the chair in front of me with a hairbrush.

She smiled and sat down, letting me use a spell to dry and dye her hair. It was still red, but the bottom had these amazing blues and purples in them, temporary of course.

I took out my muggle curling iron and began curling her hair into loose waves.

"You know what Shiy? You're doing my hair at my wedding" Lily giggled as I put the last touches on her hair. I smiled at her in the mirror.

"Elliott is going to die" I said as I judged her hair and make up

Yes, you heard me right, Elliott asked Lily to the party. I was sort of hoping Jasper would ask me, but he didn't, so I supposed he had already asked someone.

"Jaspers jaw is going to hit the floor when he sees you" Lily smiled

"You do realize Lily, that he's probably asked someone else to the party, he didn't ask me" I told her.

Lily seemed slightly shocked by this, but wiped it off her face and grinned at me.

"Come on, let's go knock 'em dead" She said.

We laughed and linked arms before leaving out dorm.

The party was in full blast when we got there everyone turned to see us walking through the doors.

Elliotts fan girls practically threw themselves at him, it was pretty funny how he completely ignored them while he looked for Lily. They seemed frustrated by him and began to search for the person that he was looking for, who hadn't arrived yet.

"Wonder where the girls are" Remus said, worried for his sister.

"I'm sure that they'll be here-"

My voice was interrupted by the hall doors opening, revealing Lily, who had dressed up as a Sea Goddess.

We hadn't seen the girls all day, Lily we'd seen briefly, so Elliott was shocked by how she looked. Her appearance had completely changed since we'd last seen her.

I had to admit that she look really nice.

She also looked extremely nervous as she walked towards us.

Elliott smiled at her and took her hand "You look lovely" He told her.

"Really nervous too" I added.

"I wasn't nearly as nervous as Shiyloh is. Look" She said, pointing to the hall doors.

I turned and saw Shiyloh anxiously walk in. I could almost feel the tile floor on my jaw.

She looked absolutely stunning!

She was dressed in some sort of steampunk outfit, but as much as I didn't understand it, she was fantastic.

When she reached us, Remus complimented her, Elliott was still fawning over Lily, and I, being the i***t I am, just stood there in shock.

"Jasper! Jazz! Jasper!”

When I snapped out of it, Shiyloh was looking at me. She looked a little less nervous now, but still nervous.

"You look stunning Shiy" I grinned at her.

"Thanks Jazz. Come on! Let's dance!"

Shiyloh pulled me onto the dance floor, Elliott and Lily were sending us knowing and amused looks, whilst Remus looked conflicted.

About two hour later, after dancing to dozens of songs, I pulled Shiyloh out of the hall and into the courtyard, away from the eyes and the loud noise. The courtyard hadn't been decorated like the hall had been, but the darkness around us and the torch light was decoration enough.

"That was insane!" Shiyloh giggled and I couldn't help but smile.

But then I started to feel anxious again.

"Shiyloh?"

"Yep?" She responded turning her big brown eyes at me.

"I wanted to ask you something" I said slowly, forcing the words out. That's it, there's no backing down now.

"Jasper, you should know after three years that you can tell me anything" She smiled

"Alright. Here goes.

The first time I saw you, I didn't know what to think of you, you were shy, beautiful, funny, courageous and just out right amazing.

Over the past few years, I've found myself with a growing crush on you, it wasn't until the fifth year that I accepted it and then I took me till the beginning of this year to realize something that shouldn't have been this hard for me to realize in the first place.

I Love you Shiyloh, and nothing can change that. I love you and I am going to love you." When I finished, Shiyloh was standing in shock, there was confusion on her face, but in her eyes, there was so much more. After a few dreadful seconds, she smiled.

"Here I was thinking that was the only one." She said.

"What?" I asked.

"I love you too Jasper, ever since I first met you. Like you said, it just took me a while to accept it, and figure out how to understand and get around it. But I do."

I smiled and ran my hand through my hair.

"So, would you accompany me to Graysmere tomorrow?"

"I'd love to" She said softly.

Then, I did something that surprised me. It wasn't in the plan, it wasn't even something that was on the table of events but it happened and I'm glad that it did. I kissed her.

He kissed me!

And I was kissing back!

I never thought that I'd kiss my best friend. It sounded a bit weird, but because of who we are, and who he is, it wasn't weird at all.

So here I am.

Thing is, I was enjoying it. It was my first kiss and I'd never imagined it would be with Jasper, never. I didn't understand how unbelievably lucky I was in that moment, and I knew that only later I'd be able to look back and fully understand.

I don't think that it could get better.

Until Remus showed up.
