Chapter 5

1055 Words
Jamie POV. As darkness descended earlier, the moon remained high in the sky, obscuring our movements. Bound by a common goal, Jayden and I crept through the darkness, our hearts thumping with expectation. We had meticulously prepared our attack on Seven in an attempt to make up for the betrayal that had destroyed our lives. We closed in on Seven's hideaway, silent as ghosts, a place where shadows whispered through the silences and the echoes of agony lingered. The tension that crackled between us mixed with the scene of anticipation that filled the air. This moment, when our paths would intersect with destiny, was the result of years of agony and longing. I gestured for Jayden to take a position as we neared the edge of the clearing, his eyes displaying a mixture of restraint and determination. With our eyes locked, we silently understood one other's departure. The time had come to unleash the fury. After taking a deep breath and bracing myself for what was ahead, I stepped forward and let the veil of darkness fall. "Seven," I said, a strong blend of resolve and rage in my voice. Here, your reign ends. We must now recover the things that were taken from us." Seven stepped out of the shadows, his eyes narrowing in a way that was both surprising and menacing. "Jamie, Jayden," he sneered, bitter laughter laced throughout his voice. Do you dare to challenge me? You were always the weaker one. Jayden's voice pierced the atmosphere like a blade, his words brimming with treachery's poison. The weakness lies in putting an end to a cycle of torture rather than searching for justice. We'll be more than just pieces in your hand, Seven. Filled with a potent blend of deterrence and rage, I made a quick move and threw myself at Seven. The fight broke out in a frenzy of blows and strikes, the sound of steel on steel echoing through the night. Every hit carried the weight of our collective suffering, the echoes of previous betrayals feeding our resolve. With an unbridled force and brutality derived from years of torture, Jayden fought. His movements were purposeful and smooth, with every move intended to break down the barriers of Seven's deception. Together, we battled as a unit, with our movements reflecting a symphony of retaliation, a dance of violence. The clash of power and the explosion of desperation crackled through the air. Once again, conceited and untouchable, Seven found himself pushed to the verge of defeat. A mixture of fear and disbelief flashed through his eyes as the mask of control fell away to expose the vulnerability underneath. "There's no defeating me!" With a voice tinged with hatred, Seven roared. "I am this pack's legitimate leader!" With a last-ditch effort, we defeated Seven, leaving him helpless and defeated. Although the battle had been fierce, our determination had proven unsatisfactory. However, even at that moment of success, a hint of sadness surfaced in me. Despite all his flaws, Seven remained my brother. "We're not going to kill you, Seven," I said, maintaining a steady yet slightly angry tone. "However, we will take away your authority and make sure that justice is done." As we defeated him, our attention was drawn to the concealed chamber where April was being held captive. The door creaked open, revealing a scene that made me feel both relieved and hurt. Isabelle, her eyes full of caution and hope, stood looking forward, her voice trembling with a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty. April POV While Jamie and Jayden stood in front of me, their presence served as a beacon of hope against the darkness that had consumed my life, tears welled up in my eyes. Their fierce will had broken the bonds that held me captive and released me from Seven's grasp. However, when their gazes met mine, a bittersweet feeling tugged at my heart. "April," Jamie said, his eyes brimming with a mixture of vulnerability and longing. We came to see you. We took great risks in order to save you." With an intensity that matched Jamie's, Jayden's experience spoke with a depth that resonated deeply in my spirit. "At last, April, you're free. You are now free to select your own route. The pack's elders, wise and weathered, advanced, their presence commanding respect. As they spoke in unison, their voices carried the weight of the century, their words weaving a tapestry of history. "Now is the right time for you to make a mating decision, April." Anxiety lingered in the air as silence enveloped the call. Between the unwavering devotion that Jamie had exhibited and the love that had blossomed between Seven and me, my heart fluttered within my chest. The weight of this choice was on me because the course I chose would forever change our lives. With his eyes wide, Jamie extended his hand, his touch a lifeline. "I love you, April. Ever since I first laid eyes on you, I have loved you. Elect me, and I will cherish you eternally." Filled with need and determination, Jayden's voice continued, "April, although I haven't known you as long as Jamie, my love for you burns just as fiercely." "With me, you'll discover an unbounded love." I was filled with confusion and upheaval, feeling as wild as a raging storm. My heart ached for Seven, the one who had kindled my love's flames in the first place, but the hurt of his betrayal persisted. The person who had battled me tooth and claw to get me free, Jamie, had a love that was only rivalled by his unwavering commitment. And Jayden, whose love had bloomed in the midst of the upheaval, presented a chance for healing and a new beginning. The elders, their eyes full of compassion and wisdom, awaited my decision. Their silent words spoke volumes, imploring me to make a heartfelt decision and embrace a future full of hope and redemption. A sudden clarity washed over me at that moment. I realised that love was not a straight line but rather a tapestry made of many threads, each with its own shade and hue. So, speaking from the depths of my being with a trembling voice and a resolve that emerged, I said the words that would define our destiny. "I have a choice."
