They refer to me as the cursed girl, the one that no wolf desires to mate with. However, when fate hands me a contract, I have to make a decision: do I sign with the alpha triplets? Chapter 1
Tears streamed down my cheeks, blending with the droplets of rain that fell softly from the gloomy sky. Another mother lost a child, stolen from her by the cruel hands of fate. The agony was unbearable, tearing like a dagger through my heart. The curse that befell me appeared to be an insatiable beast, yearning for more lives to lay claim to. My body trembling, I closed my eyes and let my grief consume me as the rain fell. What is the number of deaths I would have to endure? How many more times would love elude my grasp, leaving nothing but emptiness behind? The bitter taste of despair hung on my lips, making me feel choked. Suddenly, the sound of breaking twigs, low growls, and menacing laughter broke through my sadness. With fear shooting through my veins, I looked up. A troop of shifters emerged from the shadows, their eyes shining with malicious intent. They belonged to the other pack, the fierce ones who aspired to rule our territory. One of them sneered, his voice laced with cruel pleasure, "Look what we have here." "The one who was cursed." As I fell backward, my heart hammered hard against my chest. Through the whispers of the past, the curse had spread like wildfire, marking me as a death omen. People avoided me out of fear that my touch would bring them the same fate as my past victims. These rival shifters had now captured my attention and were playing with my suffering. Clued-in darkness, the pack elders emerged from the shadows. Their weathered faces possessed a mixture of curiosity and calculation. The oldest, a lady with sharp eyes and silver-straight hair, walked up to me with a demeanour of authority. "April, "she addressed me with my entire name, her voice as cool as a winter's night. "You have an option to select." With my voice stuck in my throat, I looked at her. What option would there be for someone like me? The curse had marked me as a mortal, condemned to witness love fall apart before me. "You are going to select one of the Alpha triplets," the elderly woman interrupted, her voice full of curiosity. They all have distinct qualities and are unaware of your curse. You have the power to choose who might become your possible mate." My eyes grew wide with doubt. The alpha triplets were well-known individuals with a reputation for being such. The persuasive and charming leader Seven was well-known for his quiet voice and capacity to persuade people of his point of view. The analytical and strategic man-child, Jayden had a keen mind that could solve even the trickiest puzzles. And Jamie, the mysterious and moody man, gave out a dangerous atmosphere that intrigued and alarmed me at the same time. The elder continued, warning April to make wise decisions by pointing out potential consequences beneath the surface. "Not only will your choice determine your fate, but it could also impact our packs' future." I was filled with confusion as I stared at the Alpha Triplets, who were observing me intently from a distance. They all exuded a sense of power, their presence demanding attention and acquiescence. I couldn't help but be drawn to their magnetic personalities and feel attracted to them. The rain persisted in dousing us, its light drizzle reflecting the tempest raging in my emotions. I felt as though the weight of the curse and the burden of this choice threatened to crush my soul. "How can I refuse to make a decision?" At last, I was able to express my doubts, with the words escaping in a tremulous whisper. The elderly woman's eyes grew stern, her voice cold. "There's no turning back." The enemy pack is demanding a solution, and their terms for peace are the alpha triplets. You have to make a decision or face the consequences." Fear mixed with curiosity as I locked eyes with each of the triplets one after the other. They, too, were possessors of stereotypes. However, I was unable to shake the persistent feeling that one of them, concealed beneath their allure, held the key to my curse. Rain stopped its onslaught, and a moment of silence fell across the crying. The weight of my choice crushed me, my heart ripped between yearning for love and seeking validation. I made up my mind at that moment, while the Earth was dying. "I select... " I started my own consulting business, "... to enter into the contract with the Alpha Triplets." As the days went by, I couldn't help but be drawn to Seven's magnificent presence. His words were like a sweet melody that entwined with my heart of longing, and his charm was irresistible. However, beyond his alluring façade, I perceived a mysterious darkness that sent chills down my spine. One evening, I stumbled upon a hidden alcovе as the moon hung high in the sky, sending its ethereal glory upon the front. The scent of moist earth and pine mixed together in the air as I moved cautiously forward, my curiosity pushing me deeper into the hiding places. To my surprise, I stumbled into a hidden chamber decorated with elaborate artwork and bizarre symbols. The realisation hit me like a lightning strike. This was no typical location; rather, it was a sacred area connected to the essence of our species. In the midst of all, a battered journal with pages full of unknown passages stood before me. With shaking hands, I opened the journal to discover the truth that had been hidden within its flimsy walls. My heart was racing in my chest as I dove deeper into its pages, my breathing becoming laboured. The words exposed a terrifying tale of betrayal and broken trust. I discovered that Seven was the mastermind behind my curse in the ink-stained pages. He had orchestrated the demise of my earlier marriages, his acts driven by a perverted need for dominance and control. The revelation tore at the thin threads of trust that had tied me to him, sending shockwaves through my soul. Fury flared through me, stoked by the deceit that had concealed his actual motivations. How could someone I had come to care about have such darkness within them?
