As the minutes pass, I realize I’m holding Kai rather tightly—maybe too tightly. I don’t want him to hurt any more than he already does, so I loosen my grip, keeping my arms around him as we recover. There’s still plenty to remind us of what we just did: our quick breaths, his body beneath mine, and splatters of c*m here and there. I can’t imagine that I will ever stop smiling because life is just so good right now. It’s warm and comfortable here, right where we are, with Kai nestling underneath me, pressing his head against my shoulder. My body is content, grateful after I tried so hard to suppress my longing.
“That settles it.” I kiss his cheek and neck. “I’m keeping you.”
“You’d better,” he replies, grinning. “That was the whole point. Now, what time is it?”
